Default Starting up again

I seriously slacked off at the beginning of march with my diet. My dog passed away at the end of February. He was only 8 years old and he was my baby. I was seriously depressed over this. He used to always follow me everywhere and always wanted to be in my lap. It was really weird to look down and not see him sitting by my foot or walk around the house and not have something following me everywhere.

About 3 weeks after I lost my dog my husband decided that we should go to the humane society and take a look at this one dog that was up for adoption. We spent quite a lot of time getting to know him at the shelter and decided to adopt him. Well, we get home and as loveable as this 4 year old pup was he ended up favoring my husband more then me. As happy as I was to have something around keeping me company during the day while my husband was at work it still wasnt the same, and I still felt lonely. This pup is more independent and doesnt really care to sit in your lap or follow you around.

While I still wasn't exercising as much as I should have been, I was walking our new dog twice a day(my husband and I take turns with the potty breaks). Where we live I have to walk a ways to the grassy area so I was still getting in two 10-15min walks a day. Luckily in the 3 months I slacked off eating way to much fast food and being depressed I only gained about 5lbs back. I think its really due to having to walk the new pup, our old dog was a tiny pocket monster who preferred puppy pads over going outside. So Im thankful for that.

While the new dog is still more attached to my husband to me, and I still miss my dog every day Im ready to move on with my life and get back to my healt once again.

Ive been back to calorie counting for a week now, and I have to say Ive really missed it. Ive noticed writing down what I eat has really helped me stop thinking about food so much. Ive also re-evaluated my weight loss goal for this year. I wouldn't say I got burnt out before but trying to wrap my head around being 100lbs lighter by December was a bit to much for me. So for now Im just aiming at 30-50lbs, and I figure my body will just get there when it gets there.

Welcome back! I'm so sorry about your baby! I'm happy to hear you didn't give up! You're new mind set is great. Keep working on it one day at a time.
