I am not in my 20s, but this post spoke to me because I am dealing with a closet full of shoes that are now too large!
I gradually went from a 7 1/2 to a 9 1/2 when I gained weight. I went down to an 8 1/2 this winter, but now those 8 1/2 shoes are slipping off as I walk, so I think I am down to an 8 now. I need to remeasure my foot. I had assumed that my shoe size went up due to pregnancy (an old wive's tale). I was very surprised when shoes bought during my high weight started to get too big on me as I started to lose weight. I never thought I would go back down to my college shoe size again. I guess feet get fat too.
My problem now is that I have a closet full of size 9-9 1/2 shoes, with a few new 8 1/2 shoes thrown into the mix. Now most of them are too big (except for a few pairs of 8 1/2's that run narrow/small). Going down in size will be expensive, and I don't know if I will go back down to a 7 1/2 when I hit my goal weight (now it actually seems possible).
Oh, and I also have an easier time walking in heels too. I don't wear super high heels, but at my high weight, even a 2 inch heel was too much for me to manage!
