Default 5'7" when will I look good in a bikini??

For those of you who are 5'7" (or close to that), what weight did you feel comfortable in a bikini?? I know that everyone's body is different, but it would be nice to have an average number of where I might need to be. My goal is 150 but I'm wondering if I'll ever look okay in one?? Going on a 2 week vacation to the beach where I will be getting married in September and hoping I can wear one!

I wore a bikini last summer at around 175. My husband said I looked hot (but he may be a big fat liar ) I'm a couple inches taller than you so I bet you'd look great at 150!

I think it's subjective! I saw this woman that was overweight or maybe even obese that looked great in a bikini. I don't know if I'll ever look great in a bikini because of my belly button. Good luck!

It depends a lot on how your weight is distributed. I'm 5'7" and right around 156 currently. I have a small belly still but I could live with that probably. My problem is my thighs. If they were smaller I'd probably be fine going out in a bikini! It's almost impossible to know what you will look like after you lose the weight so my suggestion is to work toward your goal and decide later if you need to adjust it. It's probably wise to do some toning too. I know I really need to get working on that asap! Good luck!

It really depends on your body. There are women my height (5'6) who weigh 160 and look amazing in bikinis. I am 144 and I would look sooo bad because I still have a ton of fat on me. I'd look like pasty white jello. It just depends on your body, how you store fat and how much muscle you have.

Depends on where your fat settles, loose skin, esc....I've seen some people higher then my weight and about my height look amazing in bikini's, but I don't just yet because of my stomach. All individual

I think its more about self esteem. Some people feel comfortable at 150. Some 180. Some more. Some wont ever feel beautiful no matter how much they lose.
A well fitted bikini should help a lot tho at either weight.

I believe ALL of you would look great in a bikini right now

I agree, it all depends on you. I am 5'7" and I have never been able to wear bikini, even at much lower weights. And now that I have the back-to-back baby sagging skin/stretch marks across my belly I will have to settle with rocking a REALLY cute one piece bathing suit.

If you go to mybodygallery.com you can see different body types and how they carry weight. Some bikini shots on there too. Maybe that helps.

Though I agree with Eurus, it's all about self esteem. The way you carry yourself is key but also the way you take care of personal hygiene and choice of bathing suit can help. I see plenty of 'big' girls that just look awesome. Weight is not key.

Though obviously we all wanna look like the chicks from baywatch. Nothing wrong with trying, but also just stay real about who you are.

Make sure you incorporate weight training into your plan. Your diet will make you look good with clothes on. Lifting will make you look good naked .

I'm 5'7" and personally, I've worn bikinis up through about 160-170 lbs. Granted, they were not really skimpy, Victoria's Secret-esque bikinis, but they were 2-piece suits. I felt most comfortable around 150 or below though, so I think your goal of 150 will look great! Like others have mentioned, doing some toning exercises will really help in terms of looking good in a bikini.

Should I tone starting now (at 200 pounds) or wait till I am closer to goal?

Start lifting now You may stall at your current weight for a little bit, but I guarantee that you will lose inches if you start a weight lifting regiment
