Im stuck at 175-177 =/
I've been stalled since Novemberish... I eat less I gain, I eat more I lose a little then bounce right back to where I was. I am drinking plenty of water and making sure I get fiber. I started following a 1300 calorie plan, IDK if that is the issue. (at the moment i am not exercising) Maybe I have come to the point where I NEED to exercise in order to start losing.... Any insight? It would be much appreciated =)

A friend of my family hit a plateau and he doctor told her to up her cardio. So if you aren't doing any or much exercising would definitely help...even it its taking a 30 minute walk everyday. I'm kind of in the same situation as you are. I am in the 190s and cannot get out! When I started sturggling with getting below the 190's I was doing about a 1/2 hour of cardio to an hour of cardio per day and I couldn't do more b/c on top of being a student I work WAY too much. I think mine is purely mental though. I think that I was like okay I'm under 200 I'm good. But hey I maintained from May last year to Jan...so once I get down to what I need to be in I feel confident I can maintain at least. Good luck and hang in there!!!!

If you don't shock your body, your body is used to something and will stay the same. So if for this whole journey you've been doing the same thing, eventually you'll just plateau until you change something.
I would start exercise, start by doing it twice a week for 30 minutes. Then slowly upgrade to three times a week etc... See how that goes. Exercising is fun, pop in a DVD or something.

I agree a tweak is in order. It can be small- add more exercise every day, cut out alcohol (or soda) entirely for a month (if you drink it at all), cut carbs etc. My last plateau my doctor told me to cut my carbs in half and I lost 10 lbs pretty rapidly. I am now plateaued again and have made some tweaks to my diet but I am pretty sure I need to ramp up my exercise. I've gotten rather inconsistent in that area and need to get consistent again.

Yeah I think you should add in some exercise. Dieting makes you look good in clothes, but working out will make you look good naked! Get moving and I bet that plateau will bust.
Just beware, after starting any exercise program (or changing the frequency/intesity of one) your body will likely hold water for a week or two....so don't freak if the scale goes up a bit after you start working out.

Don't you hate that!? I think I figured out what's going on. I stopped taking birth control in mid November and my hormones have all been crazy. Well, I had my period like normal THEN had to wait a month and a half afterward (today to be precise) to get my second period after stopping birth control. I am thinking maybe I had alot of water weight and my body just didn't want to give it up =P

If you're going to start exercising, which personally I found was key to the success of my weight loss so far, you might need to up your calorie intake. I eat around 2000 calories a day as I'm exercising 6 times a week from 40-60 minutes. It's all about experimenting with what works for you, but I found eating more when exercising really sped up the weight loss.
