If they meet, you're probably towards the middle.
If they overlap, you are towards the small end.

This might help in determining reasonable goal weights.

your wrists gain weight but your fingers don't get longer I could overlap my fingers when I was thin, now they don't meet

Wow! Thanks! I know it's not an end all be all test of YOU HAVE THIS SIZE FRAME, but it's really nice to know this general guide. I dunno why I never thought to search the internet to see if there was a way I could tell my frame size. I do seem to have longer than average fingers, but I can wrap my thumb to the first knuckle on my middle finger

LOL. Yeah. I suppose I was a little naive in thinking they wouldn't have anything to say about it. But now I know. In the future I will just be noncommittal if they ask about my goal or how much I want to lose.

And really, my goal weight is just a motivational number. If I'm thrilled with 135, I'll stay there. I don't NEED to get to 120. If I find what I have to do to get down to 120 too restrictive, I won't do it. I need to be able to maintain after I'm done losing. I just wish I had thought of not telling them my goal weight and/or how much I want to lose before I told them!

Thanks for all of the replies, everyone!

I've always wondered about this one. I'm 5'5", my hands are the same length as my 6' boyfriend's (though his hands are thicker). If I had any musical talent whatsoever, I'd be a great piano player. Can I be excused from this test?

Not positive after that just from personal experience... I have broad shoulders, and wide hips. My frame is more of a medium. But my fingers overlap by at least 1/2 an inch. When I weighted more then didn't even touch xD

Because I have pretty long fingers I started poking around for other frame size tests. My wrist circumfrence is 6.1" and according to the charts for 5'6 that is a small frame and I'm still losing weight off of my wrist (It was 6.25 when I started). Then I took my elbow breadth measurement (2") and checked that chart and that also says I have a small frame.

I know they are just tests on the internet but it's just fun to see since I've been told I'm big boned my whole life

PS: Here's one of the pages I was looking at: http://www.am-i-fat.com/body_frame_size.html

I just don't discuss my weight loss goals with anyone in fixed terms. I'll say, "I want to achieve a healthy weight." and leave it at that. No one argues with that. If they push for specifics (which no one has, with me) I could say, "I'll know it when I get there."

Sometimes vagueness is your friend.

Provided you are at least 18 years old, your weight is nobody's business. I've never had anyone ask me how much I weigh (outside of a Dr's office) and if they did, I'd tell them it's none of their business. Nobody asks how much I'd like to weigh either. I'd probably keep that to myself also unless I trust them enough to realize short people don't weigh as much as other people.
