Hey cls, dont listen to your friends on this one. Im sure you can do it, you just have to want it. Once your friends see how youre losing weight theyll be jealous and come crawling for advice from you lol

I am new as well. My husband can eat whatever he wants (and its always junk!) and never gains a pound. I've been over weight my whole life, but when I was younger, my bestfriend was a size 4, so even when I wasn't "fat", I always thought I was some huge whale. Now, after shes had a baby she is the same weight as me. She does live about 10 hours away now, we are losing weight together which is nice. It's also nice to have a BFF who isn't super skinny!

It's good that you joined. It shows that you are willing to make the change! Luckily, this forum is always active with people so there is endless support (from what I've seen so far). As stated already by others, doing more than 20 minutes on the elliptical should do wonders. Also, depending on how much you weigh now, even 1200 might be to small of a number. You might want to find an online calculator to see how much someone your size should be eating to lose weight. If you eat to little for your body, your body will store it and you`ll gain weight.
