I definitely agree with being able to see small changes now! If I'm up a few pounds from being bloated I can definitely see a difference now and before I never would have noticed a thing!

It's awesome to be able to see the small changes. Way to go guys!

I've been bouncing around all over the place on the scale lately, it's frustrating but I know I just gotta keep at it.

I'm in a similar situation (except for the wedding part ) as you are. I've been maintaining around 145-150 forever and I finally feel clearheaded and ready for phase II of losing to my goal weight (129, right near yours!) I exercise 3-5 days a week and have recently swung back into rigid calorie counting so here's to us busting through our plateaus!

I can't seem to find my way out of the 140s. I would literally cry tears of joy if I could finally break into the 130s, I haven't weighed that little since I was 10.

What's worse is that for 2 mornings in a row I saw 141, and now I'm back up to 144 -- I'm hoping it's due to TOM being just around the corner. Fingers crossed.

I'm a bit apprehensive about reaching goal, because I took some photos of myself and I took like a shrunken obese women. I'm smaller, but my proportions haven't changed much (I have a muffin top, love handles, etc). If the last 14 lbs and toning up does nothing for me, I don't know what I'll do. I was really looking forward to hitting the beach in a two piece this summer.

I'm thinking about investing in some spanx and some more cocoa butter cream. At least it's something.

EDIT: About noticing subtle changes, I totally see them too now. Before, if I ate a load of junk, I would feel bloated but I could never see it, and when others complained about themselves looking bloated I never understood what they were talking about. Now when I over eat, I get gorilla-belly -- My belly and upper abdomen get really thick and hard, and I'm funny looking.

I was the same way the first time I got to my goal, which was also 130. I had been SO excited to wear shorts (not even short shorts, just ANY shorts) because I had been too self-conscious to wear them since I was in like 6th grade! I have an hourglass shape, but with that comes BIG old thighs, even when I've lost weight and worked like a savage at toning them. I was very disappointed to find that I still could not wear shorts at goal without being self-conscious of my cellulite... let ALONE a bikini (but honestly very few people in the world really love the way they look in a bikini so I'm okay with a little imperfection there).

A big part of weight loss for me has been accepting my shape. Even when I got down to 120 (I kept losing after goal in an attempt to wear the shorts) I still was never completely happy with my thighs, and by that point my face and top half looked like skeletor lol.

So try to accept that our body types are what they are, and don't stress too much over how your "muffin" will look at goal... and ps I bet your legs look GORGEOUS!!!

Also, just to update on my own situation: was 149 a few days ago and reached healthy BMI!!!! But then my boyfriend bought hummus and v-day chocolate (bad bf!) and now I'm back in the 150's. Argggg. Hoping to get back to the 140's in the next few days!

Thanks for the honest reply. I'm glad I'm not alone in this. I guess I figured if I could just lose the weight, all my flaws would go with it. Totally unrealistic. I should just be thankful that I'm not as squishy and lumpy as I was nearly 100 lbs ago. lol

And don't fret about the chocolate, it's not even Valentines day and I helped myself to an entire chocolate bar. It was 90% cocoa, but still overboard. It happens. :P

I've been stuck at 157 for the past 4 days! Shouldn't be complaining really since I had a mini-cheat day a few days ago. Ahhhh. I really want to see 156 next week though... even like 156.8 would be awesome. Haha.. Hope everyone else is well! ^^

I'm hanging around 142 (morning, nude).

But I'm really upset about my visit to the doctor's office. I was weighed with all my clothes on (including shoes) and the scale read 150.2. So as soon as I got home I weighed again, without changing any of the variables, and it read 146. Without my gear, it was 142.

So my scale may be under by 4 lbs. I don`t know whether to continue using this scale until I reach goal and get a new one so I can re-evaluate where I`m at with less pressure, or to get a new one asap.

I know exactly what you mean, we have 2 scales at home, and I used the electric one the other day and it showed me 6lbs heavier. For now I've decided to stick to my normal scale and once I am at goalweight or at a weight where when I switch scales my number is in the 120s, that's when I'll consider going by the other scale. For now I just can't go back to 139 again. :| I was stuck at 139 for weeks before. LOL.

It's all just a mental thing. In the end the scale should not dictate wether you are happy with your body. And you use the scale to see the change you are making. At some point I want to know my -real- weight for sure. But for now, it will have to do.

Goodluck!

Yeah, as long as I can still track my loss, I guess I don`t really need my scale to be dead on. The mid 40s were too hard for me to kick to go back there again over a technicality.
I guess I can change my ticker now. Thanks!

I`ll be keeping my eyes open for a new scale eventually, my 19th isn`t too far along...Any one have suggestions? I've never gone digital...Not sure what I think of it.

I'm so excited that I finally reached my lowest weight as an adult but I'm facing two challenging days of parties. I hope to get out of 140s soon. I've never been in the thirties since I was in middle school. My weight is probably going to go up. I thought the scale was lying this morning so I stepped on it quite a few times.

Ugh. Super frustrated over this past week. I started out last week at 145 (and ambitious). Well then TOM showed up and although I try to NEVER weigh myself during that time (all it does is depress/piss me off haha) I ended up caving and I did. 148. Not bad. I actually was pretty happy I still had a number with a 14 in front of it. I feel like I've spent so much of my life in the 150s and I don't ever want to go back. So TOM leaves and bam I get the flu. So I managed to get to the gym Monday but then spent from tues-fri in bed with a wonderful diet of ginger ale and saltiness crackers. Although I am proud to say I managed to sneak in lots of water. I managed to make it to the gym last night and I'm trying to motivate myself to go tonight after working all day.

I get on the scale today and I'm 146.4. Ugh. Now I know it's not that bad but grr. And I was kinda starting to stall before. I think I might not have been getting enough calories. After reading another post I saw the Freedieting.com required calorie and it says that I should be eating approx 1500-1700 (net I think?) since I'm a gymnastics teacher part time and try to go to the gym 5-6 days a week, and I definitely wasn't. So as of yesterday I got the myfitnesspal app and am upping my net calories to 1300-1500 to see if that helps.

I'm sorry this is so long/rant-like but I just needed to get it out there. Thanks for listening (reading lol)!
