Actually one of the huge weight loss surprises for me was how easy I found giving up drinking (cheesecake is another story though). Yesterday I had 3 beers and a strawberry daquari at a Memorial Day party and just felt like utter crap afterwards (since I haven't been drinking). I just felt all bloated, tired and gross. Now even when I'm "letting loose" I don't enjoy it that much anymore.
Most of my friends really didn't care (if they even noticed). I'll order a beer and a club soda and slowly sip the beer. It really doesn't bother me. I've saved so much money on bar tabs too. I've sort of become the unofficial designated driver. With this being said I'm someone who never really liked drinking that much. It took me FOREVER to get to the point where I could stand the stuff once I started. I now realize I only drank in college because I wanted to fit in, not because I really liked it. Good luck.
