188 today! Yeah! Happy Dance!
I also decided I'm going to take the day off because I'm just so sore.
The funny thing is that I'm feeling a little guilty about it. I mean it's stupid to feel guilty about working out only 6 days a week. I just want this damn weight off! And now!

FPSJ: The run went really well. I'm quite happy about it. Can't wait to do it again tomorrow.
I'm up almost a full pound from yesterday. What gives? Could be water retention from the new running. Could be the mac and cheese from Friday caught up with me (but the carbs in it weren't bad ones, and I only had a little bit...). Oh well. Hopefully I can still make my goal by the end of the month, even if my weekly goal is now shot.

Ferumbras: Do you weigh yourself every day? How do you deal with the stress?
There's even an article on this site that encourages you to do that, but I can't imagine doing it.
Was up to 6:1 intervals this morning. It wasn't too hard at all!
Progress!

doubtingJulia: I do weigh every day. I find that it keeps me accountable. It's too easy for me to think I'm doing fine if I don't weigh, which means I inevitably gain 5 to 10 pounds. I need the daily number to keep me on track. It's also helped me learn a lot about my body. For instance, I tried a new recipe that had been posted on 3FC -- a breakfast cheesecake. It looked reasonable nutrition-wise and it tastes good. But it's caused me to gain a pound. So I'm not going to have any more of it. But without weighing every day, I would have had it for breakfast for a week and gained 5 pounds by the time I weighed in again -- not good. I've also learned that it takes about 1 1/2 to 2 days for my body to show a weight gain from a cheat meal. Not sure that that's helpful information, per se, but I do think it interesting.
Great job on increasing your intervals!

Ferumbras: I guess it's just one of those things that works for others but not for me. Right now I weigh myself once a week on Sunday morning and on Saturday I have to actually actively distract myself so I won't obsess about it.
I went to Subway for lunch. I did well. (SO chicken teriyaki on 9 grain, no cheese, diet coke) But I think Biggest Loser might be brain washing me.

doubtingJulia: I definitely wouldn't advocate my approach for others. I know that I can be a bit obsessive about the number. I'm a fan of do whatever makes you feel best.
I only watched this past season of BL, and only after hearing it talked about so much on 3FC, but I was surprised (though in retrospect shouldn't have been) about how much product placement they did. And yes, the Subway ones probably surprised me the most. Maybe just because I don't like the flavor of anything but their meatballs subs, lol.
Oh, and I'm curious, doubting, what'd you go to grad school for, if you don't mind my prying?

Ferumbras: I studied Linguistics, which I love but now I have to get a third degree to get a job. Fun!
This evening I tried BodyJam. It's a dance based class, mostly Latin stuff. I've decided that it wasn't my bag. It wasn't hard enough. Last week in BodyCombat, I felt like I was gonna die. I did not fear for my life in this class.
Also, I have no rhythm. I dance like, well, like an overweight white girl. I started giggling every time I caught a glance at myself in the mirror.
Oh well, can't win them all. BodyStep is next up on Wednesday.

doubtingJulia: Ooh... nice! What's the next one going to be in?
And regarding BodyJam: I feel the same way with zumba -- it's why I'm always toward the back so I can't see my non-rhythm in the mirror.

Where is everyone? We might as well be PMing.
My next degree is Education. I'm gonna be a hot kindergarten teacher.

I was all set with the "hot for teacher" joke until I noticed the kindergarten part. :P
And I'm attributing the silence to it being a holiday weekend.

Oh right, you crazy Americans and your strange holidays.
I just realized... it's Monday.
You start the thread this week...

Actually, I think you may have kicked this one off, but I'll open a new one for this week officially.

Back after a year's absence from these boards. It's been a really emotional time (lost a dear friends to suicide and got diagnosed with bipolar all while going through an insane school year) but I got to the other end and just got back from an amazing time singing in Brazil with my choir.
Looking forward to meeting all y'all and going on this journey together.
I'm having an awful time looking at these pictures of myself from this semester but it's just more motivation. I love me, finally, for who I am and though I may hate the fat that's hiding me and hindering my health and my life, I know that I'm responsible for it and I'm responsible for getting it off again.
Best of luck everyone!
