This might help you: http://www.007b.com/bra-fitting.php but I'd definitely recommend not adding any inches (just speaking from personal experience here, especially if you're a bit busty). Good luck!

ETA Also, it's fitting at first because of the elastic. Because modern bras have quite a bit of elastic in them we no longer have to add inches on.
