Default Seriously?! Bra issues

So, I've lost 21 pounds now and my bras are too big. I've lost about 2 cup sizes and a band size. I decided to go bra shopping today. I always go to Lane Bryant to buy my bras cause they are the only place in town that carry the bigger size I need. Well, after searching for 30 minutes and asking a clerk, I figured out that they don't even make a 36F in their bras (they start at a 38 band size). >.< How frustrating! Does anyone know of a good place to buy online?

I wear a 34 or 36G/H anywhere else, but I bought a 36DDD at Lane Bryant and it fits fine. Did you try one of those on? The one I have is a balconnette, I think. Other than this one I have, I cannot find a bra anywhere else. I've lost 75 lbs and thought the girls would go away so I could shop for bras either. Hopeful thinking lol.

Lol mojo. I have that same wishful thought! I tried on like a million different ones cause I'm really anal about figuring out what's the best size. I'm definitely down to a 36 band and as far as the cup size goes, I'm technically between a DDD and F. I was REALLY hoping the DDD would fit but it's still a little small. Bummer. The F, honestly, is a touch big but it's better big vs small.

I love the balconette bras that Lane Bryant has...but I also need the one smaller band size than what they offer.

Fashion Bug also sells Balconette style bras and they're about half the price of the LB ones, but you can get the same sales and specials.

I can't live without my LB balconette bra... But mine are starting to get too big, too. I bought one of those cami bras that they had a while back and it's both too big and too small at the same time. The band is way too big, and the cups are way too small :/

I wouldn't buy bras online unless it was from a store where I know I can go and try on a size and it'll fit. To me it's just one of those things you don't want to chance. You've gotta have good support for the girls :P

I'm a 34F (good luck finding THAT size) and I'm in a 36DDD. Technically you should be able to go up a bandsize and down a cupsize (sister sizes). I love Cacique's sales!

Bra sizes are confusing, complicated AND annoying. This is a total so be prepared!

First off, Lane Bryant does some INSANE vanity sizing so if you're supposed to be in a 36F there you are probably NOT a 36F!! Please take out your tape measurer and measure underneath your breasts (that's your band size) and around the widest part of your chest. Now the difference between your chest and your underbust is your cup size as in an inch is every cup size (be careful because some places double up on cup sizes).

I can give myself as an example. I have a 34" underbrust and 44" chest size. That means I'm a 34J (assuming there are no double sizes). You'll find a lot of stuff online telling you to add inches to your band size. DON'T DO THAT!! IT will make your back hurt, probably make you spill out of your bra, and make your breasts sag. Trust me I know from way too much experience!

Anyways, I say that all to say that I totally get what you're going through not being able to buy from Lane Bryant's anymore. I LOVE their balconette bras, they were the only thing that would actually give me enough support for the longest time! Now I'm at the point where I can't wear them anymore because the band size is huge on me so I'm basically wearing a smaller bra that doesn't fit for the time being. I seriously need to order some new ones online (I've heard good things about this website: http://www.freshpair.com/ so I'm going to try there) but I'm trying to hold out for a little while longer still.

They do make 36s, you just have to buy them online (I also love their Balconette like above poster). I just bought 36DDDs last weekend. Somehow I started at 40DD and after losing 50 pounds am a 36DDD. How does that make sense at all. Sigh.

I agree with runningfromfat. Have you tried like a Hanes/Bali/PLaytex outlet? they carry a lot of the larger cup sizes. I grew out (as in down) of Lane Bryant while still wearing a 14. Their 14's swallowed me whole, while regular brands fit perfectly! Of course, thinking back, this is probably why I liked shopping there when I was larger....

So I was a super sized breasted girl then had reduction surgery at 19. I demanded to be made a AAA size. I was so disgusted with a large chest. Luckily (in most ways), my surgeon refused and made me average sized (which 12 years later allowed me to slowly build up a breastfeeding ability for two sons). After I grew more during pregnancy and nursing then shrank after weanings, I had to find new bras. About two to three years after final weaning of my youngest, I lost over 30 pounds. Gosh these breasts have really gone through the mill.

I have worn many many things--not all "bras". After my second son's birth, I found The Marathon Store (in Boston area) for my exercise bra needs that I ended up wearing all the time (www.marathonsports.com). I sang the song of rapture and elation. Wow. The first bras that covered me, didn't leave bulgings, and I could really move around in.

After I lost all this weight, I couldn't find a bra anywhere and was in tears after an hour in the dressing rooms of the mall. I really was a mess. How could I NOT find a BRA now. I'd lost weight! I was wearing sizes 6 or 8. Wasn't I finally NORMAL? Argh!

I couldn't stand the problem and ended up with a few sports bras again. I really wanted PRETTY bras. Nothing worked. I've been at around this weight now for 1 1/2 years and still wouldn't try on more bras. However, I did find Bali bras a couple weeks ago that I really like. But I think bras are so varied and so are women's bodies/preferences, it's hard for me to recommend my preferred bra to anyone.

My older sister really loves Nordstrom for fittings and purchases one bra each time (taking the measurements and learnings elsewhere to buy more affordable bras). I looked on-line just now and found the below two links that seem to cover what my sister has said and possibly give some options:
http://www.lindasonline.com/bras.htm...FRt25QodxXZu9Q

http://www.ehow.com/how_5956001_bra-...pecialist.html

I hope all our 3fc friends can find a few "just right" bras. It really lifts the spirits.

I just bought Wacoal bras at Dillards last week and I really like them. I am 36H and they had my cup size. For working out I order Enell bras from seejanerun.com. They are like armor for the boobs. They have an easy chart for fitting too.

I just ran into this exact same issue. I came out of Lane Bryant frothing with anger, because I was so excited about my torso being smaller.

Anyway, I found a really good fix. Apparently a lot more women in the UK have larger busts and smaller rib cages, so there's a huge amount of online stores that sell in smaller band sizes. Plus, they're REALLY CUTE! I have yet to see any ugly grandma looking bras!

I've been shopping here: http://www.brastop.com/Default.aspx

It takes about 14 days or less to get to you, which is kind of a pain, but I really think it's worth it. I've had nothing but problems trying to find good bras in the US, but on my first look in the UK, I found really great ones.

Default Oh the frustration of Bra Shopping.

Hi, I've always had problems with Bra Shopping because I've always been busty. Even at my skinniest (when I was 13 and 125 lbs) I was a 32DD! Now I am a 36G. I recommend Frederick's of Hollywood. They're expensive, but it's the only place I've been able to go that for sure has my size.

Fredericks is good, but I can't find bras in my size there anymore. I buy bras at figleaves.com and from bravissimo.com. Bravissimo is wonderful, but they are european...so it takes them a while to get here. When I was down to 180 I was a 34G, and my older sister is a 30G....so I don't think they're going to ever go away, and I am definitely considering a breast reduction.
