Possibly the elevation changes and environmental factors. Take my experience last night, it was more humid than normal and I about died (given there were other factors) when it had been easier the other two days. I would just give it time. I always tell myself that it's mind over matter.

I am so proud of myself for not giving up last night! I'm on week 7 and last night was workout 1 so jogging for 25 minutes. I injured my knee several years ago ago and have been using this program in combination with targeted weight training as PT. So far it's been mostly pain-free but I have had to stop a run once because I was limping.

Last night my knee started hurting between 10 and 15 minutes in. I told myself I would stop at 17:30 but the pain wasn't as bad so I kept going. When I hit 20:00 it hurt even less so I decided to finish and I was pain-free from 22:00 to 30:00! I'm not sure why it would be transient like that but I'm glad I finished!

True the temp may have something to do with it. It was about 85 degrees here last night and I am not used to exercising in that kind of heat and humidity. I have no clue how I am going to make it through the summer here. I guess I will have to start running in the am(ugh I am not a morning person) But I will do it!

I'm repeating Week 3 after hitting a brick wall during that second 3 minute run. I just barely make it through every time, and although I start the run well -- breathing well -- running at a pace that would allow me to make conversation. But by the end of the 3 minutes I'm holding onto the bar on the treadmill and gasping for air just trying to make it until my iPod 'dings' so that I can walk.

Hey guys,I'm new to the site but I saw they had a C25K forum and I thought that was awesome. I have done 4 races(3 5k's and an 8k) but my times were nothing great and I really am interested in starting the program. My question is, I absolutely HATE the treadmill but how are you supposed to time how long your running or if for distance(which I prefer)?Confused.lol.

But keep up teh good work!

Hi ladies! I have just finished W1D3 of the C25k. I am blogging about it (link below in my signature) and keeping track of my progress on there. You're all doing amazing!

ERHR and Ishisnowcone, congratulations on running for so long! I can't wait to be where you are!! It seems so far away though!

elevencows, I use an app on my iPhone called Runkeeper. Could you use something like that? Or a stopwatch? C25k does intervals based on minutes rather than distance so anything that can keep time should help!

I did w5d1 today. It was way easier than I thought it would be.

I personally use podcasts that I have found online. It's music with someone who comes on and tells me when to run and when to walk. I've also used mapmyrun, at least I think that's what it's called. I can map out my run and it tells me how far I go.

I completed W2D1 today. Unfortunately my GPS tracker, which tracks how far I run (I like to know, mainly out of interest really), seems to stop working once you get off the main roads. It was quite difficult today, probably because I ran within about an hour of eating. Got such a stitch!

Anyone else run today/yesterday? How'd it go?

I'll be running this evening. I have to get out some of this frustration.

How bad is it really to run two days in a row? I want to finish w5 tomorrow morning. If I don't do it then, I don't run again until Wednesday, and it's the first 20 minute run.

Lmn, I think it's fine to do it two days in a row occasionally if it's the only time you can run. Just leave time in between, like if you run in the evening on one day, don't run first thing in the morning the next, rather do it in the evening again (or whatever your schedule is like). I know it's not very good to run every day but every once in a while two days with 24 hours between is probably fine.

I have gone running two afternoons in a row (while on week 1/week 2 last year when I started - and then stopped - the program) before because it was what my schedule allowed. I'm no expert of course but I can't imagine it doing you too much harm!

I flipping did it! I just busted out 3.3 miles on the treadmill! Took me 34 minutes, 5 of which were a warm up speed walk, to reach the 3.1 miles. I am so pumped. Bridge to 10K here I come

Well done Ishisnowcone! That's amazing!

I finished W3D1 today - two three minute runs. I was pretty nervous about it but it was fine! More difficult than last week, of course, but I was able to do it no problem. Yay! I was even looking forward to it - that's even harder to believe!!

Where is everyone? I did W3D2 today and will do W3D3 on Wednesday. It was definitely easier today than on Thursday. Any progress is good progress! I even ran for another minute after my second three minutes were done. Shocking!!
