hmmm....spinach in the smoothie? I might have to get out my blender now and see if I'm up for the challenge!
OKAY so my roommie is Chinese and I gave her this bag of peppers my brother gave me that he grew in his backyard this year. These were FRESH habeneros and jalapenos. Like...so hot you can't even touch them without gloves or something crazy. They were orange, red and green. I showed my roommie them and I'm like "You're free to use them if you like" and then also gave her half of a rotisserie chicken that the kids couldnt' finish.
(okay so I totally caved and ate chicken for the first time in months for this but it was totally worth it, I'm a crappy vegetarian, I cave about once a month for sausage then I TOTALLY caved yesterday for this chicken, but its not my fault she teaches me AMAZING ways to eat food!)
She cooked the chicken in a "black bean sauce" ? She showed me her jar, it just said "black bean sauce" and then she cooked some green squash that she cut up really fine, with the habenero pepper. It was AMAZING! Then she also cooked up some funguses (wood ear? and regular mushrooms) and then she served me my own food remixed with her additions on rice, so it was: rice, SPICY squash, mushrooms and chicken with black bean rice.
A M A Z I N G
I never thought I'd be a huge fan of sweet squash re-fried with habenero, but its like...my new favoritest food evar!
She promised me she'd show me how to make it.
I thought it might be similar to number8's spicy squash soup. Now I'm going to have to buy a squash, I've never bought one before! (except pumpkins to put on my porch for seasonal decorations....)

haha yeah when its warm, just stir it in. Its kinda like eating an entire bowl of peanutbutter, but it spreads it out and makes it more palatable and swallowable. Its one of my favorite things. If you like PB its a great way to eat it.

OMG i thought i was the only one. I was always like "yay carrots" but if you came at me with a banana i was like, ew get the frack away from me. I've discovered apples, oranges, MANGOS omg yum, berries, mandarins, melon, tomatoes. Plums are ok, pears are average and I still dont like grapes :P I wanna grow my own strawberries and cherry tomatoes in summer!

ME three!!
I've had so many odd things throughout the years.
Lately i CRAVE hot sauce. Like i just want to eat it by itself. I like cabbage alot as i see some others do to, and i'll put in shredded slaw and put texas pete on it. And while this isn't the oddest thing, i have began to really like plain mushrooms where i take out the steam and put some straight up wasabi paste in it. My mother thinks i've lost it.
I've heard such good things about bison/ostrich re-protein and really low fat but i can't bring myself to eat them (i used to be a veggie, and am considering going back-i almost never eat any meat and if i do its chicken every so often. though i'll probably keep eating dairy and fish)

Maybe it's a New Zealand thing :P Haha no.. you'd think with all our lovely fresh fruit available here I'd like it more... but I don't. I still have to literally force myself to eat a mandarin - I peel off all the tiny white stringy bits and swallow the segments almost whole because I dislike them that much. And feijoas? Don't even start me going - the smell alone makes me feel pretty gross, my boyfriend loves them and if he's eaten them I won't stand too close haha!
I need to try oranges and berries next...maybe mango too... tomatoes..well.. I have a love hate relationship with tomatoes and always will. Will not go near it in it's raw state. I once refused to eat my subway because there were tomato seed bits on the wrapper I think I am crazy.

Hum, I love fruits, actually I dont think I could live without them. I dont like sweet stuff, so they are my main sugar intake (fruits and jolly ranchers)... As for weird, right now I am eating some sort of whole wheat fajita bread, with hummus, cheese and an egg...

One of the Fuddruckers where I live offers ostrich meat burgers. I love them and haven't had one in years. I would just ask them to put the patty on an unbuttered, ungrilled bun. It tastes like beef, but not nearly as heavy and greasy.

Haha maybe it is xD Its the texture that gets to me! Bananas are hard, i can have them on toast now, sliced with cinnamon and butter, dont think i could do feijoas either. I used to eat mandarins and oranges by peeling them and then taking the segments and actually peeling those off too so i just had the tiny little kinda capsules of juice and eat those xD I think its about not chewing it too much, since i started chewing fruit only three times before swallowing it ive enjoyed it more lol. Tomatoes raw are a no go but i do like slowly cooking baby ones until they go really thick and saucy. I think we are the only sane ones!
