I just thought I might as well join in on the fun! Technically, this is my first intro for the entire forum, but I wanted to make one first for the area I plan on visiting the most.
I'm a 20 year old College student, majoring in Illustration. The past 5 years of my life have been pretty hectic and I ended up letting myself get way out of shape. I've made efforts in the past to lose the weight, but I find that I quickly get discouraged if I don't see results when most people would.
The reason that I've managed to pull myself up again to try and lose the weight is because I ended up getting an explanation why losing the weight was so extraordinarily difficult for me. A couple of months ago I was diagnosed with PCOS (Poly Cystic Ovarian Syndrome) and my doctor explained to me that one of the side effects is something along the lines of insulin with diabetics. So, my doctor put me on Metformin and now I'm actually losing weight like a normal person! I still have a eat healthy and exercise just like everyone else, but it just took away my lack of weight loss that I had been experiencing for a long time.
I'm so insanely excited because I can actually see my stomach, arms and legs getting smaller.
But, anyway, I've joined up because I tend to get more motivated when I know I have other people trying to lose weight with me. So, here's to motivation!
