Same with "i've hit a plateau so must be gaining muscle". Yes, you are female and gaining muscle at the exact same rate you are losing fat. Mmmhmmm...

I hate that too. I'm gaining or plateuing despite following my diet, therefore I'm gaining muscle. I seriously doubt at 300 pounds I'm bulking up on all muscle. Or then that I must be lying.

Hungry Girl just had an email about this - she said some foods are less calories than it takes to chew them - celery being an example, its 5 calories, but it takes 10 calories of effort to chew - HOWEVER - this isn't a way to lose weight and its not a substantial calorie burn in that it does anything for your metabolism.

Just do situps to get rid of your stomach. Umm yeah, if that was the case I would have had a six pack a long time ago!

I was just supplementing your post, not trying to tell you not to do it
