I got alot of stretch marks on my belly and BAD ones on my hips a few years ago when I rapidly put on all of the weight. But now, it's weird. You literally have to look REALLY close to even notice them. I have cousins who, after years, still have dark ones. I guess I'm just lucky in the stretch mark department.

I'm hoping for the same outcome for myself. My stretch marks really aren't bad and are mainly in my arms. My mom had gastric bypass surgery about 8 years ago and went from 320 to 150 and does not have ANY loose skin but does have plenty of cellulite (she hasn't exercised in 33 years), so I'm hoping that I have her good genetics and won't have loose skin or stretch marks when I lose 65 pounds. I've lost 25 pounds in the past and didn't have any problems. Hopefully I'll look good and perhaps wear a bikini for the first time, though I would be content just to look better in a tankini.

I just snatched my little sister's bikini to try it on...just out of curiosity...
She's a size 8 or 10 most of the time..and I'm a size 14...so it was obviously a little bit tight...but it wasn't as bad as I thought it would be. I definitely felt exposed...but I'm thinking about maybe buying one.
I'm way jiggly still, and have my share of bumps and rolls and stretch marks....but it's something I've always wanted to do and I've never had the guts...I actually bought a really cute red one with big white polka dots once...I never wore it. It's too big now, and I've lost it since then...but I MIGHT buy one. I'm going on a little mini vacation for spring break to my boyfriend's family's beach house soon. We'll be gone the 18th through the 21st...and I need to buy a swimsuit before then because the one I have now is WAY too huge on me. I'm THINKING about buying a bikini...I just don't know if I have the guts yet.
What do you ladies think? Is it REALLY that big of a deal? do YOU judge other people when they're at the beach?

I don't think I really judge people at the beach, unless it's really bad...like someone is wearing a bathing suit that is way to small and they are starting to look indecent...also men in speedos I really wish that would not happen, but honestly if I saw someone my size in a bikini, i would probably be jealous that they had the guts to wear one.

I really would like to wear a bikini, but even wearing a tankini is hard because I have to get the more expensive ones with the underwire bra because I'm a DD cup. It seems there aren't any bikinis that would have support, but hopefully my breast will shrink with the rest of me and I'll be able to fit into one.

You know what, I think I'm gonna do it this year. I've been eyeing a bikini we got in first of the year, and it was really one of my incentives for starting to lose weight. I don't think my body will be perfect, but who cares? It's something I've always wanted to do!

Agreed! I was wearing one last year at about 215 lbs. I was scared, but my DH was happy (before I had always worn the full swimsuit with the skirt). I just don't think about what others have to say/think. Be proud of yourselves.

So I need some honest opinions. I'm attaching pictures of the new bikini that i bought...does it really look THAT bad? I feel like I could be comfortable in it on the beach, that is...if there weren't any people i knew around excluding my boyfriend. lol
I could always wear the shirt and shorts over it...and I'll for sure bring them with me in case I'm not comfortable without them...My boyfriend says the suit looks great on me, but he would say that no matter how bad it looked...ehh. I'll probably wear it, i'm just nervous about what other people are going to be saying about me behind my back... >.<
Oh, and ignore the messy bathroom and messy hair, I was in a rush to get ready for work...but wanted to take a couple of pictures before I changed out of the suit.

Divine- I think it looks great! You have a very shapely figure, a super-defined waist, which I think is the most important part of looking good in a bikini.

You should wear that bikini. You have the figure for it! Who makes it?

Ooooh Bikinis! There were two summers when I actually wore one back in college! I was about 185-175 and a size 12--- I had a lot more self confidence back then.
I will most likely be back around that range this summer, but I'm not sure if I have to guts to wear one again yet. It definately takes a lot of self confidence to pull it off.

I don't think I could ever feel comfortable in a bikini, no matter how good my body looked. I can still remember when I was little and my mom got me a bikini, I kept trying to pull the top down farther and the bottom up higher, and I'd usually wear a T-shirt over it. And I was actually skinny then!
Anyway, I think I can get my body to look pretty good, but I don't think I'll ever be "bikini hot", not with my stretch marks and cellulite. I think I'll stick with one-pieces and wear shorts over them, like I always do. Only this time, it will be much more flattering one-pieces!
