I'd really like to. Personally, I think I could wear one now and nobody would think "she should NOT be wearing that!" But that doesn't mean I'm going to, lol. I also have stretchmarks eeeeverywhere. Hips, stomach, inner thighs. Flab ripples (not really cellulite dimples) on the back of my thighs. I just have too many flaws that I obsess over to really be comfortable showing that much of myself off in public in broad daylight.
I'd like to buy one this year, and maybe by next summer I will have toned enough for me to be comfortable enough to wear it out, haha.

I wore my first bikini this summer before i was at goal It actually feels a lot less naked than i imagined and (surprise surprise) no one actually cares if you dont look like a super model (this did actually surprise me, i was expecting some odd looks but none! not one!). So i say go for it. Dont wait for 125! I was around 143ish but i wish i had worn one SOONER

I am glad most of you girls realize you have imperfections but ALSO realize that it's okay to have them. I know too many girls who are freaks about their bodies and don't have that attitude.
I had a friend who was anorexic in high school and she was so skinny but hated her body so much. She was never really heavy either. I think being overweight and knowing how much are bodies are capable of changing makes up look at our bodies alittle different. I know we all have our insecurities what girl doesn't, but it's good to know you guys would want to fluant it lol.
I totally agree with stetch marks are kind of like your battle scars. It's true. Losing weight is probably one of the hardest things to do, and to do it and look good even with a few stretch marks is amazing.
Hey if you got it, flaunt it! Why NOT? ya know!

jennierose: i also feel more comfortable in a 2-piece. don't get me wrong i HATE my stomach and i am absolutely MISERABLE but 1) i also think that a one piece would just accentuate the bad even more and wouldn't look as good in the chest and 2) wearing a tankini around here just brings more attention to you being a "fat girl". i'm a beach kid, we all grew up on the beach and we spend every moment of the summer we can on the beach. so it's not like i can escape wearing a bathing suit completely. i don't look too terrible just lying perfectly still on my back, lol, but i can't wait to feel comfortable again rolling over, adjusting positions, sitting in a beach chair and running in and out of the ocean in front of people!!

Nope I won't be able to wear one. I have a layer of fat right above my belly button...it's turning into just a loose flap of skin but it still hangs over my belly button pretty drastically because of this stomach weirdness I will not be able to wear a bikini. I do plan on wearing the cutest bathing suit I can find this summer!

Me too! I like the idea of being able to wear a bikini but I never even wore one in highschool when I was much thinner and more fit than I am now. I just don't think that I could feel comfortable in one now after I've had 3 children. I think I could handle the stretch marks but the loose flabby skin not so much.

I'll probably rock the tankini rather than a bikini but I have very small boobs so anything like a bikini top tends to shout "Hey! Check out this chick's small boobs!"

Yep. My only stretch marks are on my thighs, so a one piece swimsuit ain't gonna help. I'll probably go with those boy-cut bottoms and a regular bikini top.

I'm debating wearing one this summer ... One of my best features now is that my stomach is flat and it's finally starting to get some definition. But I still have lose skin on my back so I don't know. My thighs still have lots of lose skin however you can see that in my tankini so I might try one on and see what I think. I can't wait until i can afford the rest of my surgeries so I wont have to wrry about this.

Hmm...idk. I've been wearing bikinis since I hit about 195. I'm not really self concious in them, as I haven't had a baby so I don't have the stretch marks and I often row sports bra and spandex, so the bikini is often more times than not, more flattering.lol. So, yes, I will be wearing one at goal and probably this summer as well.

Maybe that's it - we were at the shore every weekend during the summer and in our backyard pool every day after school/work, so I was always in a bathing suit.
I do feel somewhat naked when its me and all of my guy friends, but that's different. When I'm at the beach or the pool, I don't really care. I'm there, doing my thing, swimming/reading/building sand castles, so if you feel compelled to watch me, that's your issue, and its your issue if you want to think "Oh, she shouldn't be wearing that!" I'm comfortable in it, so I SHOULD be wearing it.
I guess I have *some* stretch marks, but I can't really see them anymore. They're on my boobs and hips and are covered by my bathing suits, and besides they've pretty much faded by now - they're also very old. I remember being 10 and thinking that someone had scratched me all over my chest area, but they just came in so fast that I had terrible, red stretch marks.
I don't know how I gained 80 lbs without stretch marks, but it happened. Maybe because it happened very slowly? I have no idea.

my first goal actually was to get into a bikini. it wasn't to LOOK good in one, but to FEEL good in one. when i was 17 i decided i had to be on the beach in a bikini by the end of the summer i was 25...so 2 years ago the bomb hit and i realized i had to do it by last summer. i went from 197 to 160 and felt bangin...so i bought the bikini. by july 14th i was rockin it...here it is below. now, i want to FEEL good in daisy dukes by the end of this summer. i don't care what other people think of me, just how i feel (skin rolls, jigglies, etc).
i know i don't look amazing, but i felt like a queen. can't wait until this summer when i'll be (hopefully) 15 lbs less than that
