Default P90X or Insanity?

Has anyone tried either of these workout programs? I've been hearing alot about them lately, and I know they are intense, but I just was wondering which was better? I want to buy them but they are so expensive!! Are they worth the money? Or do you have any other suggestions? Thanks!!

I haven't done P90X but I hear it's great. It's definitely not my type of thing though. The workouts are too long for me (an hour each, I think). I do Insanity and I love it. The workouts are a little shorter and I don't need any equipment, which is great for me. I'm doing a combo of Insanity and ChaLEAN Extreme. This works for me because for the most part I can get my workout done in 40 minutes or less and I feel like I got my butt kicked!!

i was thinking of doing p90x but instead did the shred. it was amazing at building muscle, but the bf thought i was getting a little too bulky and i sort of thought the same thing, so i ordered the 30 minute express workout from physique 57-- the gym that keeps kelly ripa is such hot shape--- it should come in any day now.. sort of a steak at 25 bucks versus other more expensive dvds.

I have P90X and the workouts are about an hour long, and can get pretty intense if you are new to working out. People have got some amazing results though. They are too time consuming to be my exercise program, but I use some of the stuff I've learned here and there.

You don't need much room for ChaLean. Even the cardio workouts don't require much space. It's good to have some room for Insanity though.

I've been doing P90X and I really enjoy it. It's def intense and a little time consuming but if you're up for a challenge and have some time during you're day then I say go for it ! You don't need that much room but you do need resistance bands or a chin up bar and weights. The resistance bands can be used in place of the chin up bar and the weights if you choose. I have lost a couple LBS since I started. I haven't tried INSANITY but I will be doing it after I'm done with 90 days of P90X !
With both work outs you can modify it to your abilities. In P90X they have people showing you the modified ways of doing the moves.

Good luck with whatever you choose to do !!

I do P90X and my picture says it all. Its ridiculous how much it works. I want the results so I dont care if the workouts are an hour long. If you do it take pictures too and you will be amazed. I eat a peanut butter and jelly sandwich and an ensure before I workout. Gives e the energy. lol. And I look amazing. I am going to do P90X with heavier weights so I can look a little more muscular. I want nice arms and legs of a track star! lol. No but seriously its worth it. And easier if you do it with a partner.

p90x i hear really does help, but if you have a busy life then I don't really think its for you.(An hour workout!) And if you're a newbie to working out the intense workouts can be a bit much to start out with. (unless you're up for the challenge!)
I know Pink said she does that but it makes her bulky if she does it too much so she modifies some of the workouts.

Thank you so much everyone!! I think I'm going to borrow p90x from a friend and try it!! I don't think I'll look bulky for a long time haha!! The elliptical and the wii just aren't doing it for me!

Kiahna - you do look amazing!! How long did it take you to lose your weight? I have about the goals/amount to lose as you did and I was just wondering!!

I have only done it for 1 month the first time and I am starting over because I had to stop because of oral surgery and the pain was ridiculous! lol. If you do well on the eating and workout hard you can do it. Didnt take me long but I am going all the way this time. Trying to be super bikini ready for the summer. Couples only to raging waters this year and ummm Im trying to be SUPER sexy! lol. Since Im married I dont want to look like the big wife you know? Im tired of that stupid stereotype.

I have wanted to try those programs too. However, I have knee problems, so I have to keep my workouts really low impact. Can you modify the workouts to be low impact? I would love to do those programs, but I can't afford to screw up my knee any more than I already have. Any thoughts from those that have done them?
