I'm an hour glass. I find that I pay more attention to thigh and stomach exercises. I do work out my entire body but just those area a little more than the others.
I finally brought out the measuring tape and found out my proportions are approximately 34-28-34. I guess that makes one a ruler... Although I don't really feel like one, because my bum is so round (I read somewhere that rulers are usually flat and boyish!) I guess -6" waist difference isn't really straight up and down, but I'm not an hourglass either...
I'm also surprised my bust & hips are about the same. I feel like the only thing I could possibly show off is my rump. lol Proportion distortion?
"In order to be considered an hourglass the measurements between your waist-hips and waist-bust must be no less than (if I remember correctly) 9". And the bust must be at the most 1" smaller or larger than the hips in order to be called an hourglass. If the bust is 35 and the hips are 36, with the waist being at least 9 inches smaller this is an hourglass."
My measurements are 36.5", 26.5", 37.5", so I suppose that means I'm an hourglass.
I've maintained the same proportions throughout my weight loss- I have to say, I feel pretty lucky about that. I don't work any one area out more than any other- I try to get a good overall workout for all areas. It's worked pretty well for me!
That picture on the first page was great! My upper half is a cello - broad shoulders, big boobs; but then I go into an hour glass shape from the waist down.
What I like about my body is how "womanly" it is. I like having curves and I really love having a thin waist. I've been complimented many a time on my thin legs and nice behind, so I can't complain there either.
What I hate about my body type is my massive boobs and broad shoulders. Sometimes I feel quite manly with how broad I am and my boobs make shopping for clothes a nightmare. I often drown in my clothes because of this.
I try to do more back exercises because I have lower back problems (which aren't helped by the weight on my chest) and I try and do more push ups to strengthen my chest muscles to try and give my boobs more of a lift.
Hourglass... although I am sure I will be a way more appealing hourglass once I get these 18 lbs I have left... lol. I also look bigger from the front than I do the side. Can't wait til I look little all over!
She explains it well and shows you how to tell your type.
When I read her explanation of my body type I had a huge 'aha' moment.
Thanks for sharing that! I've always had that problem with skirts and avoid them because they just make me look HUGE. Now I know something to look out for!
Okay, so I always thought I was a pear. I had little boobs and a smallish waist but my arms were hard to tone and I had to work hard to slim down my back. I took care of the boob thing a few years back and now I'd say that I am what would happen if a pear and a cello had a baby. I have some serious junk in the trunk and always have. But those dang cankles keep me from strutting my stuff until the rest of my body is sickly thin.
