Default Problem Areas...need fixin'!

Ok guys, so I need a little help. My "problem area" is my upper legs/thighs. I have no idea how to slim them down and tone them up! I've tried running, and it just makes them bulky.

Any suggestions to make em mean n lean??

Pilates? I've heard really good things about stretching out the muscles. I've never done it myself.

I would second the pilates. I don't know exactley how it works but it does tone you up quite a bit without giving the bulky effect. Like I know Jennifer Aniston does them quite a bit and she has that sort of longer, leaner look (though I am sure its not all due to Pilates!). All I know is every pilates routine I have done has been hands down the most challenging workout ever, cardio or strength. It uses muscles you didn't even knew you had and you will feel it the next day!

Jahjah: You are kidding! I have never heard that about the incline. That's awesome. I will not be walking flat anymore! =) Thanks homey!

I have "bulky" legs, so I can't speak on it. I do happen to love my large and in-charge vastus lateralis.

Squats and lunges seem to be working wonders on my legs.

I am a runner--three miles a day, every day. Recently I have started the 30 day shred. I think my legs are really getting shapely from it. My legs aren't small by any stretch of the imagination. My calves are 16" and and my thighs are now a perfect 22". They are looking longer and leaner though even though the size of them is substantial. I would have to say that I am actually looking forward to swimsuit shopping.
