Well last night my son (2 next month) decided he wanted to wake up at 10 pm and play trucks until 12:30!!! Nothing I would do would get him to go to sleep. He was so wound up. So much for me getting up early this morning to work out. I'm exhausted today. Guess ill have to do it after work
The joys of 2 year olds!! Mine just turned 2 this past friday and as a matter of fact we are watching NEMO for the 50 billionth time right now...it always calms him down so that he will take a nap
Hi all. I'm new to the forum and the mom to a 4 month old girl. My parents came in on Saturday to babysit while me and my husband went to a movie for the first time since my daughter was born. It was so nice to get out of the house and have adult time.
Hello everyone! I like this thread! When I was active on 3FC, we didn't have this thread and I'm gald to see that I'm not the only 20 something mommy. hehe.
Well... I have one daughter who just turned 3 in December. Single mom, working full time, going to school full time (on break for now till March)..and I live away from my family (in Korea) so I have pretty much no help whatsoever. But my bf(not her dad) does help me on weekends since we don't even get to see him on weekdays due to our two different working hours.
My daughter is trying her BESTEST to test my limit and do the exact things I tell her not to, until I start counting. Wonder how long that will last.... lol.
I took her to dentist on Monday and now we can start flossing her teeth..we just got one of those kids floss. I can't wait to "test" it on her on Friday. (I work nights so she stays with her dad's family on Sun-Thur nights..)
My parents came to visit, which happens often, and I was a little annoyed....since my DD is the first grandchild, my parents are crazy about my DD....to the point where its annoying!!!
My parents got to see my DD in October for the very first time...and she's also their very first grandchild..who lives in another country. So you bet she was spoiled ROTTEN. The other day, I was talking to my mom and of course she asked how my DD was doing... I was telling her that all she wants to do is EAT. After dinner, she asks for snack..and of course, she wants stuff like pudding, cookie, and so on... (I think she gets it from her other grandparents because they give her pudding when I drop her off at night on my way to work) I told my mom about that and she's like "don't starve her, give her what she wants, let her eat, she needs to grow up.." I'm like MOM!!!!! She does NOT need those food... If she gets used to eating those sweets and junk food all the time, she's going to end up liking those over healthier food even when she gets older. They are bad for her teeth, too. And overeating like that can even affect her weight, which is not good...and she needs to be careful with diabetes too because both my family and my ex's family have it. "Just let her eat. She's still little. She needs to grow up and those sweet stuff isn't going to teach her to eat like that when she grows up" was my mom's words. I didn't tell her about some children I see at restaurants when we go out to eat... 5 years old or so, drinking chocolate milk one after one after one... I actually saw this one boy who was about that age, and had about 4 chocolate milk BEFORE the food even came out. And he WAS very overweight...
Anyhow... She's spoiling her all the way from Korea. lol.
But I guess that's what grandparents do... I wonder if I will be the same way when I become a grandma...
UGH so I totally thought I was going to kill my son(well not literally). He took my keys and hid them yesterday and he is too young to understand when I ask him where he put them to tell me. So luckily I had a spare car key so that I could get to work....well when I got home late last night I turned the house UPSIDE down and was about to go through the trash outside to see if he had thrown them away when I touched the blinds in my room and heard a jingle...sure enough they were BEHIND the blinds!! Ugh relief and anger at the same time! Guess I have to watch where I put things so that he can't get into them at all the joys of motherhood
I know the feeling on that one. Before I put child locks on my cabnet with my pots in it, my son decided he wanted to play with a lid to my good pots. Well its been 4 months still have no clue where it is
We are trying to plan my DD 2nd birthday thats coming up in a few weeks. I have no clue what kind of party to do. My hubby keeps telling me we should do a "Yo Gabba Gabba" party. I may have to drive a pen or some other sharpe object in my eye if we do that. I can't stand that show!!!!
But on the good side when I went to get her out of her crib this morning she wrapped her arms around my neck and said "Momma uve yuuuu" So that made the rest of my day and I may have to give in to the Gabba party.
