Anyone eat Fiber One bars?
I remember there being a thread about this somewhere else on the board and for some reason I can't find it.
I ate an oatmal and choc. Fiber One bar around 8pm last night. I ate one this morning around 10am.
I have had the WORST gas all day long.... sorry to be gross. *giggles*
Anyone else experience this?!

I LOVE those bars! LOVE them..but I can't eat them for the same reason..and I'm ashamed to say it took me a while to correlate the two, until I researched the effects that lots of fiber had on the body, and all of a sudden it was like a light bulb went off.
I'd have one for breakfast, and then like clockwork, right around 1/2 p.m., I felt so bloated and gassy, I couldn't stand it. It was painful and uncomfortable. They taste amazing, but the effects that all that fiber has on me just isn't worth it.
I kept eating them to see if my body would get used to the higher intake of fiber, but much to no avail. I had to give up:/

I used to be able to eat them with no gas. But now, they make me miserable. I love them though. I have a box in the pantry with only one gone from the box. They've been in there for like a month.

Before I started the SBD I had one to two a day. I love them and don't have that side effect at all.

If your body isn't used to that much fiber, and you suddenly eat more that's what happens. SLOWLY introduce more fiber into your diet! Also - if you don't drink LOTS of water with certain types of fiber, it'll make you feel bloated. So - maybe eat half a bar for 1 week, then a full bar the next - and drink a TON of water with it. Fiber is so good for you! I'm going to have to try those...

Yep. I can't eat more than 1 a day without some sort of intestinal pains.
But they're so delicious...

Oh they're super yummy. I love them because they're only 2 points and I feel like its "dessert" because of they just taste so freakin' good.
I noticed on my way to work that my stomach felt a little gassy, but chalked it up to the diet coke I was drinking...
I think the 2nd one really did me in. I drink an entire bottle of water with them. To be honest I don't think I feel so "bloated" per say. I'm not miserable.... just gassy. LOL I don't know how to put it any other way.
I'll try cutting back to only half a bar and slowly working up.

Good Luck to you! I eat beans every day and I add fiber to my water, but for some reason I can't tolerate FIber One bars at all. I wish I could- they taste great.

I can't eat them for just the gassy reasons you describe. I can eat the Gnu Fruit & Fiber bars without a problem. Don't know why one does it and the other doesn't...

I agree. I love them but they give me the most horrible gas ever. I can eat lots a fiber usually without it being this bad. Man they are so yummy though. I will eat them if i know ill be at home all day.

I just enjoyed them too much especially the peanut butter ones. I had to stop eating them, it never really occurred to me that they served a purpose other than being yummy, strangely enough I ate them like they were candy bars. My sister's roommate always had a bunch of them. Never had any GI issues.
