My name is Heather. I am 22 years old. I have been married to my wonderful hubby since 6/7/08. So, I still consider myself a newlywed! I gained approx. 140 due to a medical condition so now I am in the process of taking it off. I am in search of some girls who really know what it is like to try to lose weight. Judging by your posts, I am in the right place.
I'm here searching for some encouragement. My husband is so understanding and supportive, however, he can not drink pop for a week and lose 10 lbs. I have never drank pop and can't lose 10 lbs! Anyone know what I mean?
So I am currently at 275 and hoping to be at 175 by late next summer. Hubby and I want a baby! But, not until I am healthy enough to do it. And, NO DIET PILLS! I want to make myself healthy for life not have a quick fix.
I thank you all for being here in advance. I know I have a lot of hard work ahead of me!

I recently discovered FitTV. Wow, a new workout every hour. I AM IN LOVE! LOL Right now I am doing Gilad's Total Body Sculpting. I have about 4 different ones Tivo'd that alternate through. These workouts are about 1/2 hour and contain abs, cardio, and weights. So, I like that for right now. Unfortunately, part of my problem is I get bored really easily. So FitTV saves me from buying hundreds of different workout DVDs.
As far as diet, I am TRYING to do 6 small meals a day. I eat a lot of chicken and very little red meat. I don't really like milk so I don't drink it. I try to stick as close to 1200 calories a day or less. I also have a hard time with fruits and veggies. I know it is weird but I don't like the texture of them. They feel too weird in my mouth. However, I have learned to eat carrots, lettuce, apples, grapes, and strawberries. I am always trying to add more produce.
So that is about it. I used to weigh myself a trillion times a day but that method got me no where fast. So now I weigh in in monday mornings. I have been working out as described for about 2 weeks now. So imagine my disappointment when I had lost nothing this week. Losing 0 made me decide I needed help. And that is why I am here!
i am the same about the texture of fruit, i dunno theres just something about it i dont like. You're 5' 10'', maybe 1200 calories is a little low? I definately wouldnt try to have less than that. Im 5'5'' and i aim to have around 1200 to 1600, averaging probably around 1500 and my weight loss has been pretty steady so far (provided i exercise of course!)
I agree 1,200 is REALLY LOW! Too low for your height and weight. My guess would be 1,600 - 1,700 esp. if you are working out so much (which is GREAT!) and is probably why haven't lost weight because you are starving your body!
Eating 6 times a day is great and limiting red meat is also good and just make sure you are getting your calcium

And protein! Although i guess chicken has plenty of protein
welcome and congrats!!!! but 1200 is lil low i agree cuz if u do that or less u wont stick to it and ull end up gaining back what u lost n then some. trust its not a good feeling ya ull feel great for awhile and then ull get hungry n just eat n eat lol i would maybe try like 1500-1700. 4 a lil while and then when u hit a serious plateau i would look and may be cutting down a lil bit n step up the wrk outs. but if u need and thing let us know. were always here.
Thank you so much for the tip about my calories! I thought 1200 was the magical number!! Boy, I research weight loss a lot and it had never occurred to me that I wasn't losing because my body thinks it is starving! Thanks everyone! I'll gladly eat a little more! I am always starving, I just thought that came with the territory. No pain, no gain (or loss)! Right??
I definitely will. I am so recharged! On a side note, where on the site do you find your weight loss trackers? I would love to add one for myself! They are so cute and motivating!
P.s. Hubby and I just took a walk! Yay for More calories burnt!
