I like Britney Spears for working out and anything pop as it keeps me at a good pace on the crosstrainer

I've been listening to the Top Gear Anthems CD while working out. This probably means nothing to anyone but Tiggy, being another UK member, but it's a collection of songs from a popular TV show over here. Top Gear is a car program so they are "driving" songs. They're older songs mixed with newer ones. They're all relatively upbeat. Here's a track listing from Amazon for you:

1. Don't Stop Me Now - Queen
2. Bat Out Of **** - Meatloaf
3. Born To Be Wild - Steppenwolf
4. Golden Earring - Radar Love
5. Sweet Home Alabama - Lynyrd Skynyrd
6. More Than A Feeling - Boston
7. Jessica - Allman Brothers
8. Turn It On Again - Genesis (1)
9. Long Train Runnin' - Doobie Brothers
10. Don't Fear The Reaper - Blue Oyster Cult
11. Black Betty - Ram Jam
12. All Right Now - Free (1)
13. Highway Star - Deep Purple
14. Paranoid - Black Sabbath
15. Silver Machine - Hawkwind
16. Here I Go Again - Whitesnake
17. Gimme All Your Lovin' - ZZ Top
18. Ace Of Spades - Motorhead
(Disc 1)

1. Song 2 - Blur
2. My Favourite Game - Cardigans
3. I Like The Way - BodyRockers
4. Dakota - Stereophonics (1)
5. Buck Rogers - Feeder
6. Somebody Told Me - Killers (2)
7. Take Me Out - Franz Ferdinand
8. Rocks - Primal Scream
9. Our Velocity - Maximo Park
10. Ride - Vines (1)
11. Clocks - Coldplay
12. America - Razorlight
13. Song For Bob Dylan - Bowie, David
14. For What It's Worth - Buffalo Springfield
15. Woke Up This Morning - Alabama 3
16. Mr Blue Sky - Electric Light Orchestra
17. Driver's Seat - Sniff 'n' The Tears
18. Race - Yello
19. Slave To The Wage - Placebo (2)
20. Champagne Supernova - Oasis (2)
(Disc 2)

They're really just fun songs. Some are better than others for working out but I really like them! Other than that, I usually watch TV or a movie while I am doing my stepper.

Um, I listen to heavy, hard rock. Probably not anything anyone here listens to, but helps with the energy.

I have about 15 songs by Mushroomhead on my MP3 player. I have faster songs by Seether, Bush (Machinehead), Atreyu, etc.

I'm personally a podcast and audio book fan I get a lot of "reading" done while I work out--but with audio books, I can actually work hard AND "read" at the same time.

This is great, I've been looking into work out songs because I'm finally going to start a routine and the only music I ever listen to is very hard rock/metal so I needed other ideas. Don't get me wrong, some of my music could work as workout but since I listen to it constantly, my mind won't put a connection to working out with the music. Ha-ha.

I happen to like James Brown " I feel good " and Patti Labelle, " New Attitude ". They are great songs to walk fast to.

I listen to mostly pop and rap songs when I work out. A great motivating song is Eminem's "Till I Collapse"

I listen to all kinds of music generally...but when working out, I tend to listen to more metal, rock, and R&B/rap. I like to workout to the old Linkin Park and I do some old rap. Like Nas - you can hate me now. Its a good, fast song. I do some Britney Spears but sometimes it almost seems too slow for my workouts. I listen to some old Smashing pumpkins - like bullet with butterfly wings. I am constantly updating my iPod though....so it usually doesnt last long. I also kind of trick myself...so I will find my new fav song of the week that I could just listen to over and over again..and I will put it on my iPod but wont listen to it UNLESS I am working out. It has worked so far. Right now that song would be Jaheim and Keyshia cole - I've changed. Kind of slow...but I still like it.

EDIT: I thought it might be helpful if I actually listed the songs that help me push through the end of my workout.
Nelly - Number one
Nas- Hate me now
Petey Pablo - Show me the money
3 doors down- Kryptonite
Blackeyed Peas - let's get it started
Britney Spears - piece of me
Christina Aguilera- Fighter
Filed Mob ft. Ciara - So what
Gym class heros - clothes off
Kelly Clarkson- You thought wrong
Limp Bizkit - My way
Paramore - Misery Business
Toni Braxton - He wasnt man enough
Whitesnake - here i go again
Usher - yeah
Trapt - Headstrong
