And for the thread - even though the work day is over -- what I try to do when I am tempted is to tell people why I don't want any goodies -- if people know I am working hard to lose weight it makes it harder for me to 'cheat' in front of them...also you can put lotion or hand sanitizer on your hands so anything you touch with your fingers will taste yucky (nail polish remover really does the trick -- but that is usually at home after I do my nails I won't touch any food) and last but not least what works for me the best is to pop a strong mint in my mouth or chew gum - -most things won't even taste good after that...

One poster said something like this... about potlucks she imagines the food was prepared by someone in their underwear with a cigarette in her mouth, and occasionally petting the dog as she cooks. I don't think that is an exact quote but you get the idea.
