Canadians - where do you shop plus-size?
Ok, the title says it all
Where do you shop in Canada that is plus-size? I feel like people often mention stores in the States that just aren't around me.
And shoes! Where do you buy shoes for a wider size 10ish foot? I have yet to step into a shoe store in a mall because I feel so self-conscious that my big foot won't fit into their tiny shoes
What are your favourite types of clothes?

Have You Shopped Online?
Well, I have been shopping online for about five years. There are a lot of really good plus size fashions you can buy. I would do a Google search for Canadian stores online if you prefer shopping Canadian. Here on this website there is a list of many catalogs that have both online and paper catalogs to choose from.
Here are some of my favorites: Silouettes, Masseys(for wide feet--although other catalogs like Roamans and Woman Within also carry shoes for the wider foot), Jessica London, Just My Size.
I have been shopping from all of these for many years and I have received excellent customer service, promotional "deals" like free shipping, sales, etc. and the style and quality are really "fashion-forward".
Have fun shopping!

Wow thanks! I'll definitely check these out. I hope they are within my $$ budget.
I've always wondered with online shopping though, how do you know which size to get? And because it is online, if you get something that's too big or too small, then how much of hassle is it to send it back? Especially if shipping is not free?

For online shopping and sizes, I always look at the sizing charts. Most websites will have them somewhere, although they can take some digging to find.
I'm sort of an "inbetweenie" - too big for most straight-size stores, and too small for more plus-size stores. I wear a 16ish in straight sizes, so I tend to do a lot of my shopping at Gap and Old Navy. Gap often has clothes in 14/16/18 sizes, but not any higher, unfortunately. I know Old Navy regularly carries up to a 20, if that works for you.
From the US, I have ordered from Lane Bryant with good success. Their shipping is fairly reasonable (esp. with our strong dollar right now!!), they have sales *all the time*, and they have some cute clothes.
Hope that helps!!

There's always Pennington's and both Sears and The Bay have Plus size sections. I frequently order online - Coldwater Creek is a favourite. I've had no trouble with sizes or returning things and our $$$ situation is great at the moment.

I'm not sure about Plus Sizes b/c I can JUST fit into the largest regular size, but like Ruth said, our dollar is great right now, so you might as well just shop online at US stores...that's what I've been thinking about lately and for X-mas too!

Ones mentioned already. Pennington's, Addition-Elle. There is also Laura Plus, and a lot of chain retail stores carry plus sizes. I avoid Walmart and Zellers though because I find their clothes just don't fit right...
Penningtons often has some great sales, between now and Christmas if it isn't already on, they will have their scratch and save sale. You can save up to 50% off. I lucked out and scratched the 50% last year Addition-Elle I don't find has many sales, but I find them a bit trendier than Pennington's. Reitmans I find a lot of nice office wear in.
On shoes front, I can't help you there...
