Count me in! This month has not been good as far as weight loss and exercise but August is a new month and hopefully a new successful month.
My goals: Exercise at least 5x/wk

I've never been good at sticking with an exercise plan, but maybe this will make me feel more accountable.

Longtime listener, first time caller! I'm Rosa and I have spent the last year falling off the wagon, hard, right after I lost 30 lb. I've gained 15 of those back and I want to spend the rest of 2007 losing that and a bit more. I'm planning on starting a Body-for-Life Challenge this upcoming weekend, which will coincide with me moving back into my law school apartment, with gym access. For those not familiar with BFL, it's a 12 week challenge involving a lot of weight-lifting, cardio intervals and eating small meals 5-6 times a day. Every 7th day is an off day. I'm also shooting for 3-4 longer cardio sessions per week, which is usually an opportunity to catch up on gossip with friends.

Change of plans - gym at school is closed until Aug 20 - ugh! So Challenge starts on Aug 19 with some cardio, and then finishes Nov 10, which happily is the date of my friend's wedding in SoCal, so I'll look awesome in my party dress!

Start weight - 179

August 1: Drank lots of water, did pm relaxing yoga, eating not so great.
August 2: walked/jogged around the park (~4 miles), but injured bottoms of my feet with dumb insoles, eating so-so
August 3: totally failed to work out, eating not great but not awful.
August 4: sat around the house (hot out!), eating was not too bad - loads of tomatoes and fresh whole grain bread.

Week 2 start weight - 178

August 5: finally made it jogging all the way around Prospect Park without stopping!
August 6: ate lots of good veggies but no workout
August 7: ditto
August 8: ate pizza and didn't work out because it was so damn hot out. did sweat a whole lot whilst moving some stuff back into my apartment.
August 9: 60 mins treadmill - 25 jogging, 35 walking, 4.4 mi total. Drank lots of water today and did some sun salutations with a great new yoga dvd i got, but also ate like a pig...
August 10: plan - jog around the park, do yoga, eat a lot of tofu, go to farmer's market to buy some good fruits & veggies.

I'm joining in! It's my first challenge here in 3FC!! So here's hoping for a productive month. I've been avoiding exercise like the plague since the start of the summer--it's time to put some of my free weights and gym clothes to use!

Fitness Goals:
-- Steady-State Cardio: 90 minutes/week (total: 360 minutes for August)
-- High-Intensity Interval Training (HIIT): 60 minutes/week (total: 240 minutes for August)
-- Resistance Training: 3 times/week (total: 360 minutes for August)

Diet Goals:
-- Stick to Atkins Induction for entire month of August
-- Drink at least 1.5 liters of water a day

This is the goal i am setting for myself.
Minimum of 2 x 30 mins of cardio EVERYDAY
Swim atleast 2 x per week
Yoga on alternate days
Wake up early in the mornings- NO sleepin past 6 o CLOCK!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Harsh!!!! but i really have to shift the pounds this august! or else ........ grrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrr ................. i will be really angry with myself!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

I did not do well at all for July, but I'm trying it again!

Goals: Do my Pilates dvd once a day for at least 5 days out of the week. Drink 8 glasses of water per day. I want to lose 10lbs. this month.

Well last month I didn't do so well. I made it 1/2 (roughly) to my cardio goal. But that was about it. This month I want to keep it simple as to not overwhelm myself. My goal is 1 hr. 4 days a week of cardio (tapes, walking, jogging, mowing grass, etc.) So that will be 20 hours (or 1200 mins) of cardio.

im totally in. this month i really want to incorporate weight training. my goal is the normal 35 mins of cardio 5 times a week, and weights 3-4 times a week.
August 1: 35 mins elliptical. 540 cals. weights- back-abs-shoulders. 30 mins.
August 2: 35 mins elliptical, 537 cals. weights- arms-legs. 25 mins.
August 3: 35 mins elliptical, 521 cals. weights- shoulders, back, abs, 30 mins.
August 4: double at work

August 5: double at work
August 6: 35 mins elliptical, 528 cals. weights- arms-legs. 20 mins.
August 7: 35 mins elliptical, 522 cals. weights- abs-back. 20 mins.
August 8: 35 mins elliptical, 525 cals. weights- arms-legs. 15 mins.
August 9: 35 mins elliptical, 530 cals. weights-back-abs, 20 mins.
August 10: first roller derby practice in a long time! 2 hours. i dont know what i burned, but i sure was sore. awesome. thats going to be 2x a week in conjunction with my elliptical. but no elliptical today.

August 13: 35 mins elliptical, 520 cals. weights; arms and legs, 15 mins.

I didn't do so hot with July's goals, so I'm going to revamp them so that they are a little more attainable.

Goals:

* I would like to do just as much, if not more, cardio as I do weight training. I'm going to shoot for doing at least 600 minutes of each.
* 2,000 crunches
