Default Will you get baggy skin if you want to lose 30 pounds?

I'm only a little over what I want to be, I only want to lose about 30 pounds all in all. I was talking to my friend and she said be careful of having baggy lose skin...Do you really think I would have that problem? I planned on losing the weight by working out and eating more fruits and vegetables. I thought if I was doing it by working out that it would help the baggy skin problem. Thanks!

Everyone is different. There is some great information, though, in the Skin FAQ thread in the Maintainers Forum.

Hope that helps...

Haven't seen many of your posts yet either, so welcome!

IMHO probably not - based on my personal experience you probably won't get baggy skin.

You're young and you have only 30lbs to lose. But however saying that, it does rely a lot on genetics.

Which would you rather be 30lbs heavier or 30lbs lighter with a bit of skin that can be hidden? To me that's a no-brainer

Mindy - way to go, also, for coming out of "lurker" mode and starting to post! I love to see people who were just reading start actively joining the discussion!

In my experience, no-- and I have gained/lost up to 60 pounds, without baggy skin (because of exercise, most likely, and because I'm young). The only thing you may have a problem with (or at least I do) is stretch marks. I suggest scar cream and Cocoa Butter lotion every day, it does wonders to fade them.

I haven't had a problem with baggy skin yet..but stretch marks for me don't seem to go away no matter what I use..so you might have that problem too...really depends on your skin type...

You probably won't be to be on the safe side, lose the weight slowly. 1-2 pounds per week.

I'm assuming you're in the 20-something if you're posting in this forum, so my hunch would be no - skin should still be pretty elastic (unless you ravaged it smoke & excessive sun) and should bounce back from your weight loss.
