Hey guys, as you know my center closed, do you know of anywhere that I could get anything similar to the Jet Starts or the Slim Downs. Some nights (like last night), I really need something quick, and I would love to have a Slim Down. If you guys know anything let me know please. Thanks!

Nisha- Probably the closest thing to the jetstarts would be the small bottled Starbucks fraps. Light ones if you can find them.

Look in the newbie thread for the breakdowns of some different shakes that you can substitute for the slimdowns.

Hi Nisha - here's some substitute items I had written down:

Slimdowns = slimfast low carb shakes OR high protein shakes (closest in carbs/proteins)

LA Lite Bars - Lunas, Prio Completes, Kashi Go Lean bars or Chocolate PB Bliss Bar

TakeOff Juice = Knudsen's Morning blend juice, 48 hour juice, Celebrity 48 hr Juice (or use 4 cups of cantaloupe OR 4 oranges in place of juice)

LAWL Cereal Bar (=1S, 1F) – 130 cals; 3g fat; 95 mg sodium; 25g carbs, 2g fiber; 13g sugar; 1g protein - Nutrigrain bars are pretty close. They go between 140 calories and 3g fat, 26g carbs, 13g sugar, 1g protein, 120g sodium

In regards to V-8, you can incorporate 4 oz. of V-8 Fusion as 1 fruit exchange. Limit the use of this product no more than one time per week, as it is not typically part of our plan. You can use Diet V-8 Splash, up to 24 oz. daily, as a diet beverage. We do not recommend the V-8 Splash or Smoothies as they are not 100% fruit and due to their nutritional value

Hi Nisha,

I use Target ultra weight loss shakes. I like the Rich chocolate royale, but the vanilla is good too. It is cheaper than Slim Fast Optima and much cheaper than Slimdowns. NOTE: read the labels carefully as one of the Target Chocolate flavors is much higher in calories and sugar. I don't remember the name of the flavor.

Slimdowns (strawberry) cal 260; fat 5; sodium 290 mg; total carbs 35 g; sugars 31 grams; protein 20 grams; fiber less than 1 gram

Slimfast Optima - cal 180-190; fat 5-6 grams; carbs 23-25; sugars 17 grams; protein 10 grams; fiber 5 grams.

Target ultra - cal 170; fat 5 grams; total carb 24 grams; sugars 17 grams and protein 10 grams; fiber 5 grams

With the Target and Slimfast brands it is recommended that you eat 1 skim string cheese to make up for the lower amount of protein. As always, you list the food as a Slimdown on your diary, if a Counselor is reviewing your food choices.
