How about some nuts, or a string cheese? Or raw veggies? Triscuits and cheese. Are you going to see Sweeney Todd? If so, please be sure and come back to give a review. I'm trying to find a friend that can go with me this weekend.
I always like to buy something while I'm there, so I get an XL tea! it's about $1.75, the cheapest thing there LOL, and in my purse I'll have a chewy granola bar
Hey quyana21! I think movie popcorn is so not worth the calories, but my boyfriend is a huge fan, so it can be hard to keep my hands from straying to that big bag of grease...especially when he keeps offering me some
Any healthy snack that you enjoy otherwise would be great, as long as you can smuggle it into the theatre. Sometimes I won't even snack - I'll just have a bottle of sugar free juice or diet pop from the dollar store, or I'll chew gum. Otherwise, I'll bring a 100 calorie pack.
Enjoy your movie!
I took a bag of Chex cerial with me last time. It still had the same motion and crunchy feel of popcorn. You might try mini pretzels if you want something salty.
I pop a bag of low fat popcorn at home and bring my big bohemian bag to stash it in. I've also been known to bring sugar snap peas (the crunch is very satisfying).
Thanks for all the great suggestions. I definitely have to pick up some chex cereal for next time, small crunchy pieces just like popcorn! I ended up bringing some baby carrots to nibble on and these cheese flavored rice cake snacks that I forgot I had. My husband got the popcorn for himself and I'm proud to say that I didn't touch a single piece of it!
When DH and I went to see Alvin and the Chipmunks, I snuck in a baggie full of olives and pickles, crackers and cheese. Some jerk ended up snitching on me and security came and told me I had to dispose of them. I told them straight out that I have special dietary constrictions and couldn't eat the unhealthy foods they provided... they backed off.
