OK - I am on the Red1 plan without lites and my exchanges are similar to yours with the exception that your plan has one less fruit, one less vegetable and one less starch.

Anyone else want to jump in?

This is just a guess on my part, but I think the Counselor is trying to have you eat a carb (starch) with each meal - breakfast, lunch and dinner to keep you satisfied longer. This is instead of having you eat multiple starches at one meal. If you were not doing this approach, you might select to have 1 starch at breakfast and 2 starches at lunch for instance. Carbs are not bad. They keep you satisfied with the food that you are eating for a longer period of time. Again, my guess is that since breastfeeding moms have extra demands, if you spread out the carbs, you will be less tempted to cheat. All of the LAWL or Pure Weight loss plans, are balanced so that we have proteins, vegetables, fats, dairy, fruits, lites and starches. Hope this helps.

I am on the Red plan, and this is exactly what I eat!! I have to agree with above that they are probably getting you to eat a carb at each meal!!! Good luck to you -- it should work!!

Also remember no natural food category, or food type is bad. All fruits, vegetables and whole grains are sources of carbohydrates. There's a big difference between 1/2 cup of blueberries or brown rice, and 1/2 cup of potato chips or even white rice or white bread.
