I kinda think that should be a male - don't they tend to see themselves in a better light than reality? Or is that just my boyfriend?

I think it should be the opposite - a thin woman looking in the mirror and seeing a fat one. That's what I always saw, even when I was 117 pounds.

No, its not just your boyfriend. My Hubby has a lot of weight to lose, too, but it just doesnt seem to have the same negative impact on his self esteem. We could probably learn some valuable lessons from them.

Yes, uh - huh, I agree with you. That's EXACTLY what I was thinking. That mirror is just not a truthful and accurate tool for me. Not when I was morbidly obese and not now.

That's me, right there. Even at 242 lbs, I never think I'm that big. Although pictures taken are a good reality check for me.

Me 2! I was never 117 though, but when I got to 188 i thought I was still huge. Family were telling me I didnt need to lose anymore and I was looking sick.

I read that our mental body image is 6 months behind our current body size. I believe thats right b/c when I was smaller i kept thinking I was still 250lbs but now that Im 220 I think I look like I did when I was 188 even though the sz 12 have been long gone!
