Default What a difference exercise makes...

I've been struggling for over a month but a lot has been going on. I've been eating crap. One thing I have been doing is walking, once or twice per day.

So, I've been eating crap and maintaining my weight. Yesterday was a particularly bad day for me eating wise but I walked twice, once in the morning and then once in the evening. Guess what? I am down a lb today.

It isn't useful for me to eat crap and maintain my weight I need to have consequences. The only real consequence that I have is thinking, what would've happened if I didn't eat crap? What if I had been watching my calories, following my plan? Would I have lost weight? Most likely.

So, I am going to stop eating crap and start losing again, hopefully.

Anyway, I am glad that exercise has spared me some weight gain and I just have to realize if I continue to exercise and watch what I eat, then I will lose.

Good for you, Nelie, for realizing what could have happened if you ate well and exercised, or if you ate crap and didn't exercise! Time to get back up on the wagon!

..and more importantly, for getting right back to being in control

Good for you (and glad the damage wasn't worse - we've all done worse than maintaining!!)!

Thank goodness and kudos to you that you've kept the exercise up. That's not easy to do EVER, yet alone when you are busy and you're eating isn't stellar. Gosh, you really are a maintenance queen, aren't you?

Good luck eating better. I know for sure you can do it and YOU know for sure you can do it. And you'll be right back to losing in no time at all, I've no doubt.

IT's amazing isn't it? I've been maintaining my food, but I have my own business and have been working well into the night for the past few days to make a deadline (conversely, I didn't go to bed until 5am last night, and didn't get up until after noon today because I was BEAT! The night before I only slept for 3 hours) ... so I haven't really been able to exercise at all. BUT my point is, since I've kept up with my food, I'm still losing... at a slower pace, mind you, but at least I am not gaining... life happens sometimes, you just can't let it spiral out of control, and pick yourself up as soon as possible. I crunched some numbers last night and figured out that the 30 lbs I gained in the past year and a half could have been prevented if I just didn't eat an extra 100 calories a day. 100 calories a day! Amazing.
