Default Question about water retention and muscles....

I was reading the weigh in thread (I will be able to post there tomorrow..1 week down!) and I saw some of you mention that you don't work out on weekends and having a smaller weight on Monday. So, how much water do your muscles retain? I've worked out everyday since Sun whether it be running, swimming, WATP videos..you name it..so is that bad? I know I should give my body a rest but I HAD to get myself going a few of those days because I felt I had too much crap food. (I've been kinda hard on myself.)

So, should I not do anything this weekend and see what happens Monday? I was just going to take my girls swimming this afternoon and do my video a little later. Is that bad?

When I say I've been hard on myself..it's not that I'm down or anything..I am feeling more motivated now than ever..but I just watch everything so closely. And when I KNOW I shouldn't have had something I make myself work it off.

Excersize is not bad. Just the intensity could be. If your muscles are sore, you should give them a day of rest so they can heal. You do retain fluids in your muscles that help repair them. It can take 2 days for my muscles to release the fluids. If i work out hard on Friday, wake up saturday sore, if i don't excersize saturday or sunday, by monday the fluids are usually gone. The experts do recommend giving your body at least one day of rest. If you are afraid of breaking a routine, just make one day a light, leiserly walk. There is nothing wrong with that. You just don't want to go all "full out power" 7 days a week. If your legs are sore one day, then you should do something that works your arms and abs and back. Then the next day you can do your legs again. But you have to give your body some time to repair itself or you could end up hurting your muscles.

I look forward to reading what everyone else has to say on this.
