Default Massaged Kale

We just got a big bunch of kale in our CSA box today and I decided to try a recipe I'd read last week. The dish is called Massaged Kale. It's actually more method than recipe, but it is so yummy!

First you take your kale and very finely slice it across the stems. The recipe didn't say to remove the stems, but I did (habit.) Place it in a bowl with a flavorful liquid of your choice (I used 2T low sodium soy sauce, 2t sesame oil, & 2t chili/garlic paste to 8c of shredded kale.) Then you just get your hands in there and squeeze! After a few minutes it'll be bright green, tender, and very flavorful.

Yes, this kale is raw! I was skeptical, but I just had to try and it. It's really good! I hope we get more kale next week so I can experiment!

Just in case you were wondering, the book I saw it in is called The Revolution Will Not Be Microwaved. It's an interesting book about food activism and it has some cool and different recipes in it.
