Cool

Woo Hoo! Our weekly chat is up and going again. I'll be the first to get things started as I have been STARVED for some chat around here.

It's been a busy week in my world and is going to continue to be that way until the 4th of July. We're having a huge family reunion that weekend at my parents house and all of our spare time is being spent cleaning out 10 years worth of crap, did I say crap? I meant treasured keepsakes, that have accumulated in their house, not to mention painting, laying laminate flooring, hanging new curtains, ya da da, ya da da, ya da da. That doesn't even include the shopping and cooking that will have to take place in the days right before the reunion. And to top it all off, my mom is a cancer patient and my dad is totally lost if she isn't there to tell him exactly what to do so every other weekend when she's had chemo on Friday I'm in charge of the whole reunion preparations. Yea me!

Okay, enough griping. This week has been good in that I've gotten quite a bit of exercise in and found a new workout that I love. I bought the Leslie Sansone Walk Slim DVD this week and am in love with her workouts. So just doing that will get me two walking miles every day! YEA!!! My eating this week has been questionable from both ends of the spectrum. I've eaten too much one day, and then eaten nothing the next to make up for it. While the smart part of my brain knows this is stupid, the irrational/instant gratification part of my brain seems to have overruled this week. So I'm at a net loss of a big fat "0" this week.

Hope you girls are feeling chatty this week. I'm starved for some good chat!

Hi everyone! I thought I would start a new thread for the rest of June. I’m sorry for being gone so much but so much has been happening. My granddaughter is doing well – she did have to have her leg operated on – they had to put 4 screws in but she is doing good – we are all thankful that she wasn’t hurt worse then she was.

I have been having many many problems with staying online lately … I can only get dial-up here where we are and it’s not been so bad really until the last couple weeks – I keep getting disconnected or don’t have a good enough connection to get on … never had this problem with it before so don’t know what gives. Before that my modem went poopy and had to get a new one. I so hate dial-up!!!!!

This week has been a really bad week for me. I got a piece of wolmanized wood splinter in my leg – and even tho I got it out, my leg got infected really really bad. Had to go to the clinic and had to have it lanced – had to get a tetnas shot – and am on anitbiodics for 10 days (2 horse pills a day)! …. My leg was so badly infected, still is, but is slowly getting better, except I am still getting a lot of swelling – have to soak it twice a day and the bad part is I had to stop my Curves and walking until it is healed, and NO HOT TUB!! This just isn’t fun!

Kate:
Welcome to Thin Wannabee’s. Glad you joined us. How nice to be able to study in Spain and now you are in China – how exciting for you. Hang in here and we’ll give you all the support you need … you’ll have those 15 lbs gone in no time!

Ja23:
Welcome to our little group here … This is a great forum and I know you will love it – so much support – and I hope you will post with our group often. Looking forward to getting to know you.

4me4ben:
Glad to have you back posting – I missed you. Good luck to you on your one mile walk every day – YOU CAN DO IT! To answer your question on how long it takes me to do the five miles … I am averaging a mile every 16 minutes and I usually walk 2-3 miles, then stop and rest for a few then finish the rest. I don’t do 5 miles every day tho .. on the days I do Curves, I usually do 3 or 4 miles, and some days I stop after 2 miles, depending on how I feel. On the days I don’t go to Curves, I try for 4 miles at least but sometimes do 5 and on rare occasions I do 6 miles! One day, I actually did 8 miles, but I stopped about 3 times for a rest in between. I walked 2 miles daily for a couple weeks before I went up to 3 and 4 miles. But even now, there are some days when I just do 2 miles, then there is days when I’m really feeling great and walk 4-5 miles. It’s good that your hubby won’t let you walk alone at dark … in this day and age with so many bad things happening, it’s really not a good thing. Keep up the good work tho – even if you do only 1 mile a day, that’s better than nothing at all.

Sharon:

Wow – Tyler is 2 months already! Seems like he was just born. I’m glad you are enjoying being a Grandma – it’s nice isn’t it? I wish I could see all of my g-children more but alas, they live so far away. How nice that Allen is home for a visit .. I know you are loving that! Congrats! to Kelly on her good news too! Another boy – how wonderful. Her blanket is 1/3 done already! I work on it while I am sitting here soaking my leg and since I have to soak it twice a day, it’s getting done fast!

How did your meeting go with Tina’s parents? Did you have a nice visit? Let’s chit-chat on the phone soon! It’s been way too long! Happy Birthday to you – hope you had a great day. I sent you a card – hope you got it on time!

Oh wow, before I sign off I have to tell you all my great lucky news. We went to the Casino a week ago and I won $1,000 jackpot (Royal Flush) … we went again the following Sunday and it happened again – another Royal Flush - $1,000! Well, we went Wednesday again and yes- you guessed it – again I got a Royal Flush for $1,000 – plus another $700 jackpot! It’s been a very very lucky week for me. I almost had to pinch myself to make sure I wasn’t dreaming!

OK … off to go soak my leg and then to bed for me. This medicine makes me so tired. Hope to have a lot of chatting this week! Have a wonderful weekend everyone!

Later…
Love, CJ

You are sneaky! LOL ... you snuck in and posted the 1st post while I was typing mine to post - guess that will teach me for taking so long! LOL

Wow, sounds like you are going to quite the busy gal for the reunion! Hey, that should be good for a few lbs loss, eh? Good for you getting in all your exercising this week. The Leslie Sansone DVDs/tapes are great aren't they? I have almost all of her videos but unfortunaltely they are packed away until our new house is built. I think she is great. Hey, a net loss of "0" is better than a - ahem, gain! I hope the girls are feeling chatting this week also ... Have a great nite!

Love, CJ

Finally, this quarter of school is over! I sent my last bit of work in with about 5 mins. to spare (I go to school online, and 11:55 pm was the deadline in getting the work in).

I got really depressed about some health issues a few weeks back, and let my school work suffer for it. The last few days have been catch up days. I took a vacation day from work on Wed. just to do my accounting homework. I sat in front of the computer from 10 am wed. morning until midnight with only two breaks. One for supper, and one in the afternoon to run to the store. Then every evening in front of the computer again until usually around 2 am. But it's done. My finals are finished, work sent in, and I can breathe again!!! No more procrastinating for me!!!!!

In a week I am going to be having surgery. I have been having a lot of "woman problems" lately, and will be having a couple procedures done (getting my tubes tied, a D & C, and cauterization of the uterus). Even though I know my chances of ever having another baby almost zero, it still upsets me to have to make it permanant. Then those feelings brought up some old feelings and resentments I still had regarding my husband (whom I am separated from) and some choices he made years ago that took away any chances of us having another child. Choices WE should of made together, not just him. Needless to say, it's been a rough, emotional couple weeks for me.

My weigh-in at WW wasn't that bad. I gained 2/10's of a pound. I expected at least 2 pound gain. I will definatly take the 2/10's instead. But, I can blame most of it on PMS and being bloated. I have been trying so hard this week not to snack like I did last week, so I hope I will have a slight loss.

Well, guess it's time I get off here and head to bed. 12:30 at night is a lot earlier than I have been getting to bed this last week. I am so looking foward to going to bed, and to no alarm clock tomorrow!!!

Take care

Kim

Kim~
So sorry to hear about all of your trials and tribulations. I can completely understand how it feels to procrastinate and feel desperate to get it over with. I just finished my course work for my masters degree in school counseling. Now I have to complete my internship. I'll be teaching music full time again next year while trying to squeeze in 150 hours for my internship. Wish me luck! I'm glad to know you got it done now and can breathe a little easier. I envy you getting to sleep in. My 7 month old son thinks that 6am is the PERFECT time to wake up EVERY morning!

CJ~ Wasn't trying to be sneaky, just really wanting some chit chat/needing some support. So, thanks for obliging!!!

Also to al the new Wannabes. You'll love it here and feel lots of love and support, especially when we're all feeling chatty!!

4me4ben4will--My daughter used to be like your son. Now, at 7, she's like me. Can stay up late and likes to sleep in. Though when she gets up before me, she still usually wakes me up. She thinks if she's up, I have to be, too.

CJ--I didn't mean to overlook you on my last post. I'm sorry to hear about your leg. I hope it continues to get better and you make a speedy recovery. Glad to hear your granddaughter is doing better and the surgery went well.

Talk to you all later,

Kim

Morning All
~Lots to share about the weekend but all eyes are glued to the TV. Large parts of the North Texas (Dallas) area got 8-10 inches of rain dumped on them in less than 2 hours this morning. Lots of flooding. Lots of people in danger. Will check back later.

Mary, I hope everything is OK in Texas, we need rain in Michigan, but not that much. Take care, of you and yours.

Kim, My ten year old, is my youngest, and she still checks in the am to see if I want to get up to keep her company. I think at this age, it is the wanting to be with mom, with changes going on in her life, like growing up. I really engoy this time with her. I have 5 kids, ages 26, 25, 16, 14, and 10. Only the last three are at home still. So cherish all the time you get with them, they do grow up and move on. ( that's hard, but we live through it ) We sure could use rest at times though, right.

CJ, I hope that your leg is feeling better, it is sure tough being laid up. Feel Better soon.

I am new to the Wannabes, my name is Patti, I filled out a Bio, so check it out. I have struggled for the last 8 years with my weight. It seems that as I have gotten older, it is harder to get the weight off. I have started movin, by walking 1 mile a day sometimes more. In the am, I am working out with my girls, after being up all night on 3rd shift. I am trying to find the best time to work out, after I wake up or before going to bed. Wish me the best with this. I am sure thankful to be able to chat, even though you are all sleeping. I will put up a clicker as soon as I know how to do this. 256/254/140 thanks for listening and have a great day eating right and KEEP ON MOVIN!!!!! Patti

My surgery was Friday. I am still hurting some, and a little miserable, but all seems to be going fine. The worst part for me, besides some tenderness and bruising is being bloated. I feel like I'm about 5 months preg, and my clothes that are too big for me are fitting me just fine right now. Actually, on Sat. they were snug. Now they are just slightly, but not much, too big. I know this is normal and will go away. I actually feel like if someone would stick me with a pin, I would pop like a balloon.

Not much to share right now. Just wanted to say hi and let everyone know I'm okay.

Kim, thanks for the update about your surgery. It sounds really
uncomfortable but I guess you're doing well and on the road to
recovery. Glad you're OK!

I weighed myself here at home today and the scale read 188!!! That is a 6 pound loss since Friday morning when I weighed in at 194. I think I have weighed myself about 10 times today to make sure the scale is really working right. I even made my daughter get on it, and it weighed her 2 pounds less than it did last week. So even if it was 2 pounds off, that is still 4 pounds this week. I think I will stick with the 6 though

I was hoping for about 2 or 3 pounds because of the surgery, but not 6. I have not really had much of an appitite since the surgery, and have been eating very small amounts with some snacking inbetween. I have been drinking lots and lots of lemonade with Splenda and some Diet Pepsi, so maybe that is helping me to feel full, plus the bloating I'm still having. By the way, I may weigh 6 pounds less, but I still feel like and look like I'm about 5 months preg. I will be glad when that part is over with!

In case I don't post before the 4th, I hope everyone has a great and safe holiday!

Hi everyone! Boy what couple of hectic weeks I've had ... didn't mean to stay away so long - sorry! My sister from California is in town so of course I want to spend as much time as I can with her - don't get to see her much. My leg thank heavens is finally starting to heal .. it seems all the infections is gone now but it is still tender where he had to "dig around" but soon (thank heavens) I will be able to go into my hot tub. I was banned from it until all the infection was gone.

Kim:
Glad to hear you are doing well after your operation ... doesn't sound too comfortable. And hip hip horray on weighing in at 188! You go girl ... you're on your way! You're doing so well - keep up the good work. I've gotten rid of a couple lbs this last week also .. and a few more inches too! What a good feeling, eh?

KitKit:
Welcome to our group ... we really don't have any rules here - just chit chat and give each other encouragement! Hope you will like it here - everyone is really nice - post with us often so we can get to know you better and you us also.

Patti:
A big welcome to you also! Yes, it certainly is harder to lose those lbs as you get older! You're doing well with the mile a day tho .. soon you'll be doing more. Some days I can do 6 miles, other days only 2-3. It does help! Where in Michigan are you Patti? I am in Gaylord. Happy to meet another Michigander!

4me4ben:
How's it going for you in Texas? Hope you are doing ok.

Well, I'll go now and hope you all have a really great 4th! I'll probably be back in tomorrow and will start a new chit chat thread for this week then. Hope to hear from you all soon!

Love, CJ
