Can I vent a little? Ok..(I will) I've been dropping EVERYTHING to do things for my daughter. I did a whole report for her that she didn't bother doing so that she would pass the class. And then this morning she needed some shoes to go on the SR trip and I was just ready to go in the shower but I dropped that and went and got her some shoes and a disposable camera and I threw in some socks too and she complained that they were too big and she's being hecka rude to me. So I'm fuming right now. And to TOP it off she told me the day that the money was due for the trip (a few months ago) and I had ran down to the school and got the form and sent it off in time for her to go...so she would't be going even if it wasn't for me. Well,....she said she was stressed out because she was going to disneyland! Hmmmm....what I wouldn't do to change places with her!!! (FREAKY FRIDAY here we come....eh?)

On the ME FRONT...I'm doing pretty good. I just drove my two routes that I've been walking in the mornings and found that this morning I walked 3.1 miles and that my other route was 3.2 So if I get both sessions in i'm walking over 5miles! (with the 2 miles i've been doing at night)

I need to focus on this and not let the stresses get me! Thanks for letting me vent...I HAD to do that. ;P

Tina- I hear ya. Good to let that out isn't it? Kids!! Actually, since mine are grown and gone I can only "remember when" but I sure do know what they can be like. I think they are so used to us doing everything for them and that really can be a bad thing. (for all involved) 1. They don't learn to do some things..and 2. when they leave we don't know how to survive without taking care of someone. Really, when my son moved out (my last baby) I was really depressed and had no one to do THINGS for. Know what I mean?
The good thing is...when they mature they do let you know how much they appreciated everything you did for them as they were growing up. So just say "this too shall pass."

Got my bike fixed yesterday..YAY! I rode 3 miles last night and 2 miles this morning. Hoping to ride 3 miles tonight too. My goal was 4 miles per night, but if I break it up I think I can do 5 miles a day. I don't know if I will do any walking...just will see.
Food is a problem..but after a trip to the grocery store I am going to TRY to do better. I bought a watermelon and cantaloupe plus apples. Also broccoli, cauliflower and lettuces. Hopefully I can get cooking......
It is HOT here and we turned on the AC. I hate that...I would rather have the windows open.

We are awaiting rain here Pink Jane. They keep saying it is coming, and we need it, but it hasn't arrived. I am tired of watering the new plants.

I DID ride another 3 miles tonight for a 5 mile total today. Feeling very good about that even though my legs feel like jello.

Happy Friday all...and Happy holiday week-end. Be safe!!

Cool Hello Everybody!

Quote:
Hey EVERYONE ~ I am still walking! I've done something different than I used to do. And that is I'm walking 2 times a day. Once in the morning (after the kids are off to school...which is coming to an end) and before bed. And if I miss one of those sessions I don't sweat it because I still get a walk in. In the morning it's out and about....around the neighborhood with my sons ipod. And at night it's on my treadmill. So i'm getting a bit of a different workout with the combination. So yesterday I missed the morning one because I was helping my daughter finish a report for school...it was her last day of school. :P And last night it was AI for 2 hours...what a great show! And then I got on the treadmill and walked 2 miles. It was funny because I had my ipod on full blast and I was rockin' out on the treadmill and I look over and my DH is asleep on the couch...hahahaha

Sassy ~ I used to use a pedometer and they are great. It encourages you to walk to get those numbers up! And it makes you realize how much you do walk just doing things during the day. I think that's great! You seem so much more motivated and it's so great. Even your avator looks healthy and happy! Keep that attitude up and you are going to be successful...I just know it!
Hi Tina!

Thank You and I realized that I can either be depressed and bitter and UNmotivated or happy and positive and MOtivated! I know there will be days/nights that I may not be as motivated, but that is just human.

WTG on the walking!!!!!!! Big about your DD. What an Awesome Mom you are and someday she will remember that, even though right now she may not give one second thought about it, when she is all grown, she will remember that........

Hey Sue!

WTG on the biking! I want to get me a bike, I used to just love bike riding and we have an awesome bike trail here!

Hi Pink Jane! sounds like you're doing well with your walking....

Okay, well we did go to the Zoo after all and we walked the whole entire thing and let me add that it was mostly all up hill, but I made it. Yes I had to sit a few times, but I think I did an awesome job, if I do say so myself. I found that the best way to tackle a hill is to just pump my arms and kick it into high gear, it doesn't hurt my back as badly then. I was leaving my DH & Mother in the dust! It was fun, it did get a tad bit hot and we did sweat, but afterwards I felt good, ya know, because I actually did it and yes sometimes it was hard, but I pushed through it and no I didn't die! lol.

The Zoo was fun, it was fun seeing all the animals, etc. Only bad things was the kids that people let run wild, I know kids get excited and all, but these kids were just plain rude, running in front of us about plowing us over, etc. And the 2nd thing was they wanted $2.75 for a 20 oz. bottle of water!!!!!!!! So needless to say we were very thirsty afterwards, so DH stopped at a gas station afterwards and got me a BIG water! I have been drinking water ever since too!

Well anyways that was my day. We are taking my mom back in the morning so we can get back home and get back on our sleeping cycle and get ready to go back to work Saturday Night.

Have a Great One Everybody!

Sassy--DD and her boyfriend took his daughter to a petting zoo and had a lot of fun--there was a camel that "really" liked Teri and now she wants one.

Sue--it is so true that we do for our kids so much then they move out and we are left wondering what to do, but there are times. DD is moving again. This time into a one bedroom with her bf. At least I don't have to do the heavy stuff this time!!

PinkJane--it's suppossed to be warm here this weekend with a chance of thunderstorms every day!!

Tina--you miss it when they are gone and they move out and do all kinds of stupid stuff that makes you wonder who's kids they are cause you know you taught them better!!

Hi all--sorry I have been missing--Teri and I have been going apartment looking again. There were two that she really liked and she got the one bedroom--the other was a two bedroom but the rooms were smaller than this one. She and Dave and baby to be will be living in Hagerstown MD which is where I work. She is in between the downtown shops and a huge park that has a small art museum and free concerts in the summer, not to mention alot of ducks, swans and huge koi to feed. At one time it was the neighborhood to live in and there a lot of huge Victorian homes that have been converted to apartments. The building she is in is being renovated and four of the one bedroom units are done with hers being the last one finished. They share a yard and there is a nice sized private deck with it's own entrance and off street parking. There is an older couple and a single guy downstairs and another young couple on the 2nd floor with them. They are working on the attic apartment which doesn't have the high ceiling and big windows but has lots of square footage. Their apartment has some really cool features. Tall windows, lots of curved arches and there is a nice built in with drawers up to waist high and then a cabinent above with lots of shelves that go clear up to the ceiling. The ones in the kitchen also go clear to the ceiling. I stopped and got her one of those three step ladders to use. She and Dave keep joking they are too short for the place--She is 5'6' and he is 5"8". They signed the lease Wednesday night and Dave moved in the matress and box springs and his tv and stereo in that night and I brought her bathroom stuff over on Thursday. Yes, the bathroom has the ducky decor--Dave says he is not to sure about it but 3 year old Lily is going to love it!! They want to buy a new bedroom suit. Teri had to work both Wed & Thurs so she and I are moving boxes today and getting the kitchen set up. We want to wash all the dishes since they have been in storage since September. Her cleaning stuff is in storage to. The apartment was spotless when they moved in but dd is a clean freak. The guys that own the building had it cleaned before and after they painted and fixed some odds and ends. What's really funny is we met the one guy when we looked at the place and then when we went to sign the lease we met the other and it turns out I graduated with him and he lived down the street from me!! Well off to shower and do a few things around here before I go!!

Good Friday morning ladies- I hope you all are well and have wonderful plans for the week-end.
It is beautiful and sunny here. I took a 2 mile bike ride before breakfast and it felt good...to be done. Actually, my legs hurt when I got up this morning so I thought I would just go for a short ride...but once I started I wanted to do 2 miles.
Going to pull out a box of pictures and knick knacky stuff and fill the shelf DH just built for over my desk. Also re-doing the tables in the great room. Not much else.
Going to in-laws tomorrow, but nothing for the rest of the week-end. We don't like to be out on the roads much Sun. due to being close to all the INDY 500 traffic. (our main route is I-69 and so is it for lots of race fans) So we will stay home and roast hot dogs and listen to the race.

Jules- Sounds like a wonderful apt. I know DD will enjoy the park and all with the 3 year old. (and new baby) Congrats by the way. You are correct that we sometimes wonder who raised the kids...they do what they want once gone from us. BUT..you know what? Some of our life lessons to them stick. I am amazed at how often I hear my girls repeating things I had said to them when they were growing up....and their kids get tired of hearing it...just like the girls did. HAHA

Sassy- Well good for you miss Sassy! Isn't it funny how GOOD we feel after we do something that is good for us? Sometimes I just push myself to exercise and then feel all glowy and glad I did it. And you got the fun of seeing the animals while you were exercising. Yay for you!! I am loving bicycling and really trying to decide if I want to buy a new one. This one is a 31 year old coaster brake bike that belonged to DD and was in our shed when we moved. I cleaned it all up, but couldn't get all the rust removed...lol. It pedals easy as can be, but needs a new seat. *ouch*

Happy W.E. all...............

Just a quick fly by this morning ladies....

I got my walk in....little over 2 miles. I was going to wait until tonight but then thought, I wanna relax tonight after work!!!

Getting my motivation groove back. As I've mentioned before I've had some bumps in the road that needed to be dealt with but all is getting back on track.

I hope you all have a great day and that you have a safe weekend if you're out and about. There will be lots of drivers on the road.

Ok....I'm in desperate need of a shower!!

Hugs!

Marti ~ It's GREAT to walk in the morning because at least you know all day long that you got your exercise in...it makes you feel great too!

Sue ~ my legs felt the same after the first few day of my walking. My calves really hurt for the first 10 minutes of my walk. But now no pain! It's GREAT! But yes, when it hurts you just have to warm up and eventually, for me, the pain stops.

Jules ~ that's funny, my mom and I were having this conversation last night. I said something about how nice it'll be to only have 2 kids in school next year. She said I would miss her if she leaves next year. I said I KNOW! It's harder not knowing what they are doing day to day. I think I can be a little annoying by calling so often. I have a daughter that is in Hollywood. She's been outta the house for 1 year....almost.

Sassy ~ I enjoy reading your posts lately! It makes me smile and the motivation just shines through! Keep it up lady! You're doing so great! I got my buddy here in town motivated too. Now she's walking on her treadmill...supplimenting missed meals with a slimfast bar...eating salmon...like me! I'm thrilled!

Everyone else....hope that everything is going great for you! I'm still walking daily...sometimes twice! It's great. I gotta go now tho so I'll write later! Have a great DAY!

Cool Hi Ya girls...........

Hi Ladies.

Thanks everybody for the support and encouragement. Well so much for getting up early today. We didn't get up until 11:30! Aw well, we got my mom home and are home now and can relax tonight and try to get back on our sleep cycle since we work Sat & Sun.

Sure wish we had a pool, that would be awesome and great exercise too........Aw well. Maybe someday, eh? lol. I know I could re-join the Y but I know there is less of a chance of me going up there to exercise rather than just right here at home, so no use in wasting our money.........Plus I am really not motivated by working out in front of strangers..........at least just yet. Maybe once I lose some then I will.

I think you all are doing great!

Keep up the Great work ladies, you're awesome!

Hi everyone,

Boy, I've been busy, but have gotten a lot done. My house is nice and clean, I've attended 2 meetings, got caught up on some paperwork, spent time w/the grandkids, and have things under control for the party on Sunday. Shrek 3 was a big hoot, and I like it as much as the kids, if not more, lol. Tomorrow I need to do some of the cooking that I can do ahead of time for Sunday. This is for family and a few friends, too.

I've been OP and am making a little progress on the elliptical.

Not sure when the new server will be up and running, but know it will be ASAP. In the meantime, have a great holiday weekend!

Evening Ladies!!

Tina--As for the daughter, got one too!!! But then again, I couldn't live without her. Vent away!!

Sue--I agree about the kids moving out. I'm a half empty nester. My son is out and my daughter will be going sometime over the next 2 years. Thank goodness for my dogs. They are the only thing that will probably keep me sane.

Pink Jane--I'll take the opposite of what you have. I'd gladly let my dh go for 2-3 days a month and keep him the rest of the month. I don't know how you do it with only seeing dh a few days a month. I bet he really sees your weight loss. You're probably a different women every time he returns home!!

Jules--I'm only about an hour away from Hagerstown. I've never been to the outlets there...have you?? I have a friend that goes there often. Good luck with your daughter's apartment shopping!

Marti--Thanks for the announcement for Sat night. I'll just do my lurking!! As for walking in the morning...good for you. I am so not a morning person. I admire people who are!

Hugs to Jane, Cristina, Vann, Sassy, Michelle, Mindee!!

I don't know if anyone remembers me asking about root canals a few weeks ago. Well, I had one which is still giving me discomfort and my dentist has been dragging his feet to crown the dang thing. Well yesterday the tooth broke. So today, I'm off the the endodontist to get a look/see and he pulls the broken part out and packs the rest of the tooth in hopes that my regular dentist can do "heroic measures" (his exact words) and restore the tooth. What a pain in the butt (I mean jaw)!! I have to go to the hero dentist on Tues and see if he can save it or head to an oral surgeon to pull it. Whatever happened to the general dentist that could do it all? Now we have to run all over town to see several different specialist. Instead of getting depressed....I mixed myself up a pitcher of frozen orange creamsicles and topped it off with an extra shot of rum. Should make my jaw feel better. I wonder how many WW points I drank lol!!

Working hard in the yard this weekend spreading 6 yds of mulch and re-staining the deck. Hope everyone has a wonderful weekend and Memorial Day!!
