Hey all! I have a question, if it's okay to ask. I would like to know what plan my sister should be on? She weighs about 240, is about 5'3" or 5'4", and said she felt best when she weighed around 150. If you tell me the plan color, then I can probably figure out the exchanges from digging around on here. Also, at what weights do you go down a plan? I have a Purple book and an extra Gold book I can share with her when the time comes. I'd love to get her to join a center, but she always says she can't afford it, and it's cheaper to be fat. I beg to differ with all the health problems she's been having lately (she's only 28), but I know she's not going to do this until she makes that decision for herself. I just thought maybe I could share some tips with her if she wanted to try the plan for a bit.
Hey Wendy, when I started I was on red with no lites, at 220. I was 28 when I started too, BTW. I would say red or red 1. Of course, I am still on red with no lites, but someday will probably have to go down a plan, maybe to blue. She would feel so much better to get the extra weight off, I agree. Maybe we could help encourage her?
Thanks, Katie. I'm afraid I'm just going to tick her off by giving her the information, so I know getting her to come to this board probably isn't going to happen. I just worry about her so much.
Wendy- Maybe you email her the links to some of our WL photo diaries. She may be inspired by seeing other people around her weight that have lost a lot. Sadly, though, she may not be ready. She will have to decide for herself that enough is enough in order to be sucessful. Good luck!

And great suggestion, Katie!! I know she's seen me lose my weight, but she has a lot more to lose. Maybe seeing photos/hearing stories of those who have lost comparable weight will help.
No problem Wendy! You can lead a horse to water but you can't make them drink. I am sure deep down she wants to lose the weight and hopefully when you discuss it with her she will be open to it. I will keep her in my thoughts and prayers.

Katie why haven't they switched you yet???????????? they want to switch me to purple at 185 but with all the posts I've been reading I think i'll talk them out of it
wendy--i agree with everyone else that she'd start on red. that's where i've always started and i got moved to purple this time around after i lost 20lbs. i think my last time around on LAWL, i lost 30lbs before they switched me..but i started out heavier too.
i hope that she is open-minded and takes to your being concerned about her. it's great that you care about her so much, but hard when it's something she's not ready to do yet.
