Default Pagan chick chat May/June 2007

Greetings everyone!

I've been away from the computer for the last week so my apologies for not starting a new thread earlier.

At last spring is here and I've been touring the garden centres trying to decide what plants to buy for the front yard. Haven't bought a thing yet but I am in the planning stages.

Hope everything is well with all of you.

Merry meet!

I was stuck at Beltane as my son was going through a bit of a tantrum phase and as i am a solitary i had to settle for a walk in the woods with the bluebells around me, and a rather unhappy toddler!

I hope to be able to make more of a celebration of Litha, and i have lots of time to plan!

I have just come back from my cousins wedding and it was lovely but i know i will have a big gain on thursday when i weigh!! Nevermind, its only once a blue moon that our family get together, so it was worth it!

I am starting to plan our wedding soon. It will probably not be for 2 years but i want to have it on Beltane as it would mean a lot to me. My boyfriend is not religious and has no real idea of the extent of my beliefs, as i feel he would disapprove, or at least laugh at me. I would love to have a proper handfasting ceremony, but i think i need 2 years to convince him!

Hope you are all well!

Blessed be!

xxx

Merry meet angelmouse!

Congratulations on your decision to get married. Maybe you could approach your boyfriend with the idea of a Celtic themed wedding since you could get still get hand-fasted but it may seem less pagan to him if presented in that manner.

That IS a good idea. Celtic weddings are great.

Hubby and I never did an actual handfasting. We were HP and HPS at the Midsummer circle one year. (Which is essentially a wedding ceremony in our tradition). Circle was held two days prior to Midsummer. Two days after Midsummer we satisfied the gods of New Jersey at city hall with a secular marriage. Thus we celebrate our anniversary on Midsummer.

Sure you can. Just hop right back on your plan. This was just a bump in the road. We all encounter bumps in the road.

I was wrong. It was a gain of 6.5 lbs!!

Shocking result. I am off to deep water aqua aerobics tomorrow and i am going to try not to use the noodle as much so i will burn some extra off.

Blessed be xxx

Merry meet, all! It's been so long since I've posted in here. I don't really like it being tucked away as a sub-forum, makes it hard to find but oh well. We know it's here!

Here's a link to an awesome wedding/handfasting site: http://www.dfwx.com

You have to dig around but there are so many beautiful vows and rites to check out and gain ideas from. Congrats on planning your wedding!

As for visiting garden centers and planning the front garden, I know exactly how you feel, Mauvais Roux! I just got back from the nursery and planted up a few new plants. I have such plans for the front of the house, including a new fence, an arch over the pathway complete with climbers and a gate. I think it's gonna have to be done in stages as it promises to be a big job. Still, as my husband said to day, I'm never happier than when I have my hands in the dirt.

Geeze Mummy, you've become a real Brit!

Soon you'll be entering the Britain in Bloom.

I'm still stuck in the same weight range. Can't seem to lose anything. Then again I'm not doing much of anything. I did go to the local spirit fayre, and it was a blast! This one lady was amazing. Said I should keep trying anti-depressant meds. Also said I have nutritional deficiencies, though I knew that. But it was still a lot of fun. Got some really nice stones and a cedar native american flute. Still working on that one.
