Question Cantaloupe/Oranges How much on TO???

I can't do the juice!!! Besides the taste, by the time I drink it and 8 waters I have leg cramps all night. I take all the Vit. supplements and lite salt, but I guess it's not for me. I know that you can sub the fruit but they said only 1/2 cantaloupe for the whole day? That seems like very little when you consider the calories in the juice. What about oranges too.

My COD said 1 per day in 1/4 increments on the canteloupe. I don't know about oranges, I'm unable to use those.

My COD said 1/2 per day also. But I think it may be 4oz (like the juice) so it would depend on the size of the cantaloupe. As for the oranges, it's 4. But it you really can't do the juice, I would discuss it with your COD so they are aware of what you're doing. And they can give you the correct amounts.

Here's what I had copied down:

Take off menu each day
Fruit (4 Cups of cantalope or 4 oranges or 2 grapefruits)
6 oz protein (recommend you eat the same protein all day)
2 green veggies
& 2 LA Lites

The correct answer is two small oranges, 1 for breakfast, 1 for lunch, or 1 large split between the two meals. I am a previous employee/ manager and the diet works well without all the stuff they make you buy. The original Jet Start/ Take Off used oranges ( or cantelope if you had acidity issues, the cantelope is not as effective as te oranges) The juice is unnessecary and costly. If you can opt to just use the oranges use them they work just as well if not better.

I have always followed what Joni posted......and had excellent results. I always measure my canteloupe, cuz it seems like you need all the sugar you can get during TO or FF. If you are getting leg cramps......it is most likely due to an eloctrolyte imbalance, and it would be best to ask you doctor about that rather than your COD. I am not knocking the counselors....but they are NOT medical professionals.........and leg cramps can be symptom of other more severe health concerns. Do you take blood pressure medication or have diabetes? I am not tyring to scare you by any means.......most likely you simply get a bit dehydrated during TO.....but that is not good for you either.......so you might want to check with your doc or the nurse in your docs office. It may be as simple as a phone call. You just can't be too careful when it comes to your health.

Thanks, eihenn! Do you lurk here? Are you someone we could use to "pick your brain"? How long were you there?

When using oranges you do 2 oranges for the day, cantaloupe is 1/2 for the day. Your day would look something like this:

1. 1/2 small orange, 1/2 la lite

2. 1/2 small orange, 1/2 la lite

3. 3 oz. cooked protein, unlimited green vegetables

4. 1/2 small orange, 1/2 la lite

5. 3 oz. cooked protein, unlimited green vegetables

6. 1/2 small orange, 1/2 la lite

Anywhere above where you see 1/2 small orange you would use your TO Juice there or your 1/4 grapefruit or 1/8 of cantaloupe if that's what you choose to use. However, recently I've noticed that my clients who used egg whites for all of their protein choices that day had awesome results for TO so you may want to try them. You would use six with meal three and five for your protein choices. They recently changed the plan to unlimited veggies which seems to help hunger some.

I am a little confused...if you use just the egg whites for the protien, how many in one day total? Thanks, where did this info come from?

right. You can also have unlimited protein like chicken, seafood, beef, pork (although beef and pork are a little heavier so you might have better luck w/eggs, chicken and seafood)

Thanks Cassi, I will get ready for TO and do it for 2 days starting Tues...I remember, although I gagged on that juice, I did get good results for 2 days and it really jump-started me to stay on plan. I am sooooo glad we can use oranges instead!!
Thanks...
