Default One Good Day

I really need to get just one good day under my belt. Since we've been back from vacation, I've been frittering off plan too easily ... almost every day.

I'm not sure anyone else is having a nice alone Saturday but I'm going to take this opportunity to eat properly and be accountable here.

Join me? Comment? Any old thing.

So far I've had all-bran, yogurt and tea.

Hey Susan!

How are you doing? Besides the frittering thing, of course! I have been pretty scarce on 3FC lately (been so BUSY!) and I know you were on vacation, so long time no chat.

I'm just now having my coffee and would like to join you today. I've had lots of ups and downs the last 6 weeks (see my goal below), but yesterday was a really good weigh in for me... my lowest since I started in December.

I had a splurge day yesterday (not horrible, but enough that I need to do better today). One of my downfalls is that I weigh in Fridays, then 'relax' a little (eat out, have some treats, whatever) -- which is fine, except that sometimes the Friday splurge takes on a life of it's own and the ENTIRE weekend then becomes a splurge... that's not good.

My husband and I were supposed to go out to dinner tonight with friends, but we had to postpone it. So, I will be eating at home and really have no excuse to not stay OP. Plus next week we are having a mini vacation at the beach (a wedding in Nags Head), so I have to put on a bathing suit - yikes.

So, yeah, I'm with you today. I'm gonna eat a good breakfast and then I have to grocery shop -- need lettuce, Fiber One, all the healthy staples. So, I'll be stocked up to have a good week.

Weekends are tough ladies... anyone else in for today? Great idea, Susan. Thanks and here's to a healthy and happy Saturday!

Walk/jogged for 37 minutes.
Sardines, raw tomato and decaf.

I love sardines, but my family does not ... so I eat then when no one is around

I need one good day desperately. However I also know I am going out to dinner at some friends tonight and they cook very unhealthily.

So I am looking at one CONTROLLED day today.

B: eggbeater omelet with lf cheese, mushrooms, onion, spinach, salsa , jicama hashbrowns & decaf.

I'm having a quick nibble of walnuts. Gotta get outside while the sun is out.
Hmmm do you think I can stick with my bagged lunch at work tomorrow?

So far so good everyone! I've had coffee, dry fiber one and fiber one flakes (snack), string cheese, wheat wrap with hummus, lettuce, olives, tomato, onion, drizzle of balsamic vinegrette. A few crackers and hummus too. Calories are good so far... we're having chicken, couscous, and salad for dinner.

I still need to go on a walk/run! Will do that soon...

Susan, yes, stick to the bag lunch!!! Much healthier (and cheaper)

Ennay,
Jicama hashbrowns...do tell more. I've only bought jicama once, but I miss my hashbrowns and this sounds like it could be good.

peel & shred jicama - it really works best if you shred with a food processor. Add salt and pepper probably would work with onions too. Cook in fry pan with cooking spray over med- medhigh heat. I find it works better if you spread them in a layer and then weight them down with a heavy saucepan..jicama doesnt tend to brown very well. Stir/flip once and weight down again. Its obviously not as starchy and a little sweeter than potatoes but good. It will take on the flavor of what you add to it a bit more. A very large portion is ~ 75 calories and 10g fiber.
