Default Hello 100 lb club!

Hello group!
I can't tell you how much I am enjoying this site. I have been needing to find some support for quite some time.. I am a "computer" person and felt like there had to be a forum out there somewhere that "fit" me.. and I have found it.. I love it here..

I have before and "during pix" I want to post in the photos (I am only ONE pound away from my 40 pounds lost mark!!! with 84 more to go for my goal) and will be trying to figure out that.. also I will do a profile (we are supposed to do this? right?).. one question.. is "Onederland" when you get to 199? or is it when you have lost 100 pounds? anyway.. I love the sound of that "Onederland".. that's great..

I have been in a "weight loss" holding pattern for several months now.. in late 05 and early 06 I lost 50 pounds.. and in late 06 I gained 15 of that back.. I am back on track (or at least have a bit of a hold.. it is such a daily-sometimes hourly- struggle).. I have had a few good and a few "bad" program days in the last 10 days.. but the tide is turning and I am feeling that "click" again.. I have been through so many attempts (lost and gained that 50 pounds and a couple of times 70 pounds) about four times now in the last 10 years.. I would be discouraged.. but I look at it as each time I have learned more about myself.. and just need to "get it all together"... now.. I do know that I have never really failed until I actually give up.. and I am NEVER, ever, EVER doing that.

I read Charles78's bio and it inspired me so much.. and I love what he said about it not being "about willpower, but willingness".. that rang VERY true for me..

I am glad to be here..
if you read all of this..
thank you very much.
Cary

Onederland is when you get to 199.

We're glad to have you here,

Oh my.. I Know I am going to fall to the ground and bawl like a little bitty baby when I get there.. 199 seems like a dream.. I have been in the 200's for11 years.. but I am only 18 pounds away!!! I have to keep telling myself each day I can not fast (I want to very badly.. but I have a problem with that in the past and can't go there again).. but I just want to not eat again until I see that 199..

What did you do when you saw 199?

Hi and welcome to the 100lb club. Ummm, fasting reallly isn't a very good idea. Your body needs fuel (calories) to run on. I can tell you from my own experience, as many of us here can, that you most certainly CAN get to 199 with eating. 3 nice meals a day and 3 snacks as well, in fact. For me that is the only way to stay on plan - by eating. If you don't stay on plan, well then you can't lose the weight. You don't not only want to GET to 199, you want to STAY there and beyond.

Looking forward to getting to know you. You have just found yourself a great place for support, advice and encouragement. Good luck!!!!!

Hi Rockin..

yea.. I have had to learn that the hard way.. I am no longer fasting.. I just have been very suprised.. how the closer I get to 199 the more I want to JUST not eat! you know what I mean?

I do pretty good most days.. I eat like you mentioned.. six times a day -normally.. I am learning allot about myself.. and my triggers and my strengths (and weaknesses!)...

what did you DO when you hit 199~
Have you done this mostly by counting calories?

I started my weight loss initially with Atkins.. it worked very well for me.. REALLY helped with the cravings for sugar.. It's just not a diet I can stay on forever..

I live in FL so there are SO many wonderful veggies and fruits avail. right now.. but I am not cooking right now.. mostly eating frozen stuff.. until I get back on track for a while and feel comfortable with myself and FOOD..

Thanks for posting!
Cary

WEll, not really, I LOVE to eat and look forward to my meals greatly. Without a doubt seeing the scale go down is very motivating, but I am really in this for the long haul. I had to find a HEALTHY way to do this.

Have you done this mostly by counting calories? I cried. It was very, very emotional for me. Yes, I count calories. I need to set limits for myself and I can do that with calorie counting, while still eating a variety of different foods.

I started my weight loss initially with Atkins.. it worked very well for me.. REALLY helped with the cravings for sugar.. It's just not a diet I can stay on forever.. A lot of people say that about Atkins, which is why I really like calorie counting.

I find by cooking my own food I can get a lot more volume with less calories. Start out as you see fit and you can always tweak as you go along.

Thanks for posting!
Cary

Hey Cary! So glad you're here. I really enjoyed your post so it seems we're going to love having you here as much as you love being around!

I'll let you know about the 199 when I hit it...but it looks like you're gonna cross that one before me!
