Default New LAWL Ad....

I recently saw an ad for LAWL talking about an 8 week makeover/challenge...something to that effect. It said 'lose up to 20 pounds/4 dress sizes in 8 weeks, blah, blah, blah'. Can anyone who goes to a COD that even remotely knows what I'm talking about shed some light on what this 8 week thing is all about? Is it any different than their regular plans, does it include the use of their supplements, etc.
I would greatly appreciate any info on this. Thank you!!

When I was in a COD before, the 8 week makeover was very similar to what the 6 week challenge is that's going on right now in another thread. Its a matter of alternating weeks of TO and using Slimdowns. But I would ask your COD if theirs is similar to this or different.

That's exactly what it is. TO every two weeks and I'm not sure how often the slim downs are, but I told them I couldn't commit to that.

They get easier as you go on, especially if you substitute oranges or cantalope for the juice.. I probably do a TO once a month...

Did you TO or Fast Forward? Fast Forward is the unlimited veggies and protein. TO is limited to 6oz protein per day.

Donisha and I both sat down with a counselor on Tuesday and that counselor laid out different 8-week challenges for each of us. For me, she had me slowly start adding in exercise each week...first couple of weeks, only exercise one day, then two days a week for the following couple of weeks, etc, until I was up to 4 days of exercise a week. Didn't say anything about doing TO or FF for me, but then again she knew I was on the local 6-week challenge, so it's possible she didn't want me to keep doing that. For Donisha, she added in specific days where she'll have a biscotti, or a JetStart, etc. It really seemed to me that it was an excuse for us to buy more products, really. But a couple of weeks ago, the 8-week challenge sign went up in the COD and I was told it WAS the every-other-week thing with TO. Sooo....? Yeah, I dunno. I don't see how I'm gonna lose that much weight just by exercising a little...seems I'll maybe lose inches, but not pounds.

Vic - The slim downs are meal replacement shakes. They're like slim fast, but they have more sugar and calories (funny, huh?) I use a slim fast optima and a string cheese and then write slim down in my book.

OK perhaps I'm just too new but y'all are throwing all kinds of zingers out today. I wasn't able to do TO because of the diabetes so they just threw me straight into the diet. I keep hearing slimdowns and TO and FF. My councelor has not mentioned anything other than staying on plan to me (which by the way yesterday was the first day I managed to get everything in I was supposed to eat and I feel huge). Are you supposed to do these slimdowns, TO or FF during the diet?

smjeezy,

TO is something that is normally done to boost your metabolism, but the shakes have a crazy amount of sugar in them (I think you get about 76grms of sugar in a day from the drink alone).

SlimDowns are just meal replacement shakes like those that you have seen in the store or something like that.

My grandmother also has diabetes and is unable to do the TO or FF (Take Off or Fast Forward). I think the folks that do it with oranges or cantaloupe have a pretty good success with it also though, so if you wanted to try that you should ask them what they do.

Hope this helped some.

Gotcha - Don't think I can do that either. Must be why she didn't mention it to me! Diabetics can't do too many oranges. They're very high in sugar. Thanks for the info

Shannon - The diabetes is why no FF, no TO and probably I'm guessing no slim downs. Think about this, though. You can do the plan as written eating healthy foods and lose weight. And you won't be pressured by a sales pitch.

And THAT is the best news by far! They aren't pressuring me to do the LA Lites anymore. She does push the other merchandise though : ). I bought some of the mixed berry shake mix to help get some of my fruits in and it's REALLY good. I wanted another when I was finished! I think that probably defeats the purpose though.
