Default fiber = rectal symphony

OK, I have to bring it up. How do you deal with the eventual discomfort and etc. that come from sooo much fiber? Does it go away if you just stick with it? Am I grossing anyone out? Sorry!!

Your thread title was HILARIOUS.

Did you ramp up to your higher fiber intake? You can't go from 10g a day, for example, to 40 g a day without a little discomfort at first. Yes, it'll go away if you just stick with it, but its really helpful to increase your fiber intake over time.

Agreed. I eat a lot of fiber now, but kind of worked my way up there. I still find that things will be a little, er...uncomfortable...if I don't drink enough during the day, but that's pretty rare because I love cold water and typically drink loads.

It definitely will pass though (egads...really not meant to be a pun! ) as your body gets used to it. Try drinking some more, and maybe cut back a little if you've taken a big jump in your intake - once things are fine and you've adjusted, increase the amount a bit more.

Wow! That was a thread title that I just could not pass up... that one had me rolling!!

I agree with everyone else - definitely add the fiber in slowly and lots of water.... that should reduce the music level..........

Good luck!

that's fabulous!

I agree with what everyone's said.. gradually increase fiber and make sure you're getting plenty of fluids!
