It depends what kind of music you're into. I'm usually into alternative and some folkish stuff, but when I work out I love techno and house, especially the divas you hear in clubs! Makes me think of a day when I won't feel like a dope on the dance floor shaking it! ("alone" by kim sozzi "if I close my eyes" by reina "as the rush comes" by motorcycle and anything by deborah cox or ian van dahl are some of my favs!)

I mostly love oldies, 60s, 70s, 80s stuff...disco is perfect for me since the stuff was made to move to. Anyway...here's what I've been using mostly:

-Bee Gees, Village People, Donna Summer
-MC Hammer: Can't Touch This
-Michael Jackson: Billie Jean, Don't Stop Til You Get Enough
-Rolling Stones: Jumpin' Jack Flash
-Charlie Daniels: Devil Went Down To Georgia
-Chelo: Cha Cha
-Mad Hot Ballroom soundtrack: it's a documentary about a dancing program so it's got some cool swing and Latin music
-Rocky theme: Gonna Fly Now (visualize the run in the movie here, lol)
-Frank Stallone: Far From Over
-Shakira: Hips Don't Lie
-Gnarls Barkley: Crazy
-Blondie: Call Me
-Hot Chocolate: Every 1's A Winner (off my 70s cd)
-LaBelle: Lady Marmalade
-Lou Bega: Mambo No. 5
-Billy Idol: White Wedding, Rebel Yell
-Men Without Hats: Safety Dance

I pretty much like pop, oldies, classic rock and disco so it doesn't matter to me if it's "Sugar Sugar" or "Brown Sugar".

This is what I have for my daily walking:

Let's Get It Started - Black Eyed Peas
Toxic - Britney Spears
Hey Ya - Outkast
Come Clean - Hilary Duff
Can't Get You Outta My Head - Kylie Minogue
Sorry - Madonna
Crazy - Gnarls Barkly
I Begin To Wonder - Dannii Minogue
Love At First Sight - Kylie Minogue
Get This Party Started - Pink
Hips Don't Lie - Shakira
Promiscuous Girl - Nelly Furtado
Gold Digger - Kayne West
Move Your Feet (also known as D-d-d-d-don't stop the beat) - Junior Senior
My Love - Justin Timberlake

And that's just for my cardio. I find songs with a faster tempo like some pop and most dance music, really helpful in going faster.

There is a separate list for strength training and I'll add that soon.

I hope this is okay to post, but I run a blog focusing on public domain and Creative Commons stuff (i.e. it is free and legal to share) and I put together a Workout Mix awhile back. All of these songs are available under a Creative Commons license which permits and encourages sharing, so you can download all of the songs for free. Direct link to the post is here.
