Thumbs up "Stomach/Digestive" issues

I had posted this in reponse to a different thread, but thought it might be of interest elsewhere.

After starting this diet, I found the bloating from gas and general "lack of movement" very uncomfortable. I have used the senna leaf-based tea, which helps, but I felt I needed something that would help my system be more consistent, rather than relying on the tea every few days or so.

I found a product at my local nutrition/vitamin store called "Sculpt n' Cleanse made by HealthDirect which has helped me tremendously in reducing bloating/pain and general "lack of movement" after starting this diet. I purchased it locally, but here is a link which at least describes it. I've been using it for about 3 weeks now.

P.S. I'm not affiliated in any way with the product ... just discovered it when I was picking up vitamins, started talking to the dietician who works at the store, and she recommended it. I've found it very helpful.

Thanks. I'm going to bookmark this for the next time I have "issues". On the plus side, many of you newbies will find that those symptoms do go away in a relatively short time if you don't have any underlying health issues (soy intolerance, IBS, etc.)

I just eat lots of spinach and broccoli Be careful not to overuse any of the cleansing products-there's quite a bit of warnings out there from the medical community. "Cleaning" your colon too much eliminates the mucus, bacterica, and other stuff necessary for normal function.

You're absolutely right about overusing any kind of cleansing products.

Have you ever watched any of those infomercials? I think some of these kind of products can almost be physically or at least mentally addicting! Especially those ones (gets gross here) that make you think you've got big giant worms in your colon!

My cousin went all homeopathic on us after finishing massage school, and she just went to the extreme. And mind you..........I am a bit of a tree hugger myself.....but with a science background..........I want to be a Certified Nurse Midwife.......anyway...........she tries to get everyone in the family to do colon cleansing and all this crap (pun intended), and I'm like, "hon, if you are all about being natural......why don't you just trust that God did a pretty good job when he designed your body.......quit messing with it!!!!" It drives me crazy........only becuase she is soooo pushy about it, and acts as if she has medical knowlege and tries to persuade the less informed. It is really irresponsible if you ask me.

Nicole - I have an uncle the same way. While I agree some of their ideas are helpful, I hate that "my way is the only way" attitude. I don't even try to disagree with him, just listen and then do my own thing.

Not me.. I just argue 'cause it's fun... I especially love arguing the tree huggers who have no science behind them...

As for colon cleansing.. YIKES!!

I still have GI issues, so it's not just a newbie thing.. I really like the tea, but it's expensive.. I haven't been able to find any others, however.. Someone had mentioned "smooth move" tea.. Where the **** can I find that at Wally World?

Dan - It's usually in the organic section. Do they have one of those at Wally World?

Dan, I was able to find the tea in a regular grocery store right next to the other herbal teas. I haven't checked Wally World because I try to shop there as little as possible.

I've looked, but didn't see it.. I'll check one of our other markets..

I do almost all our grocery shopping at walmart, even though I know that's not "PC".. But when I need something out of the ordinary, we have a few places not too far away from us. They are more expensive, but the meat's better..
