HAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAA ... got back just in time! LOL

I just wanted to pop in and say hello to everyone and that I have missed you all ... I will write a longer post later (I promise)! but for now this will have to do. I will get our updates posted in a few minutes also. I didn't make it to my WW meeting last Thursday because of all the snow and ice! Oh, I could have made it, but I was so cozy in my jammies and just did not feel like going outside and cleaning off my car! So I weighed at home (my scale is right on with WW) and was down 1 lb. There was a lot of losses this week so good going everyone!

Well, I will be back in a little while with a little more personal messages.

Love, CJ

Hi everyone. This week has been a complete wipe out in the weight loss department. I had results from medical tests, some more tests, my period started, my mammogram, etc. I'm not sure anything more could go wrong in a week... However, I'm finished feeling sorry for myself, so will get back on the program. Still have that 13.5 pounds to lose.

CJ - Welcome. It's sure nice to have a new face join us. LOL. Hope everything is going well for you. I looked at the weekly weigh-ins and you are down again. Congrats. You will surely make it into the 160s this week. Go girl!

Jo - Has the party at work started yet. How long will the boss be away? That should be enough time to get into BIG trouble...

Hi to everyone. I will post more tomorrow. Hubby wants the 'puter. He thinks his teaching job is waaaaay more important that this. I liked it better when the kids were home and we had enough computers to go around. I keep telling him that we need another one, but he's not convinced yet. Talk later.

Default GO PATRIOTS!!!!

Whew!! What a game!!! We were at the VFW and most people there are Eagles fans. Since the Rams knocked the Eagles out of the playoffs last week, everyone was rooting for the Pates!!! And all the odds were against them and most people were saying how they were going to lose, etc. etc. etc. I LOVE IT!!!!!!!!

Oooh, but I was so very bad eating-wise. I have to work extra hard now to make my Valentines goal. The bad news is that I was really really good last week, stayed on track, drank my water, did everything (I thought!) right and weighed in Saturday with a 0.4 GAIN!!! I don't understand this! Now I have almost 3 lbs. to lose by Valentines Day. I going backwards!!!

So after going a little overboard anyway at the Super Bowl party, I was still feeling a little ill and decided to come into work but probably go home early. So the other 2 girls who handle the phones besides me both call in sick!!! Again!!! So not only can I not go home early, I also can't go to lunch, can't even go to the *#!@ bathroom!!! And I know I was happy about my boss not being here all week, but now I can't even complain to him about this. He's totally unaware of what they keep doing. I'm so tired of this.

OK, I'm going to stop whining now. You guys don't need to hear it, right? I'm just going to drink my water and if I have to go to the bathroom, the phones can sit unattended and I dare anyone to complain! I'm going to try to eat my light lunch, at my desk I guess. I'm going to get up from this chair every now and then just to kick in my metabolism a bit. And I'm sure I'll burn some calories just fuming..... *Grumble*

I didn't stop whining like I promised, did I? OK, how about this...

CJ, YOU BRAT!!!!! I just knew you were up to no good. Isn't it amazing, folks, how she just seems to sneak in here at just the right moment, start the new thread, and then disappear mysteriously into a bubble bath or something. Gotta love ya, Queen CJ!!!

I've got to go now. Phones keep interrupting this post. How dare they!!! I'm going to try my very best to have a good day. Hope you all have a good one too!

Love you guys.
Jo.

Monday and weigh-in has rolled around once again. I have been avoiding this all day. However, now is the time to 'fess up. This has not been a good week... I had results from medical tests, more medical tests, then my period started. That probably accounts for the weight gain, but I ate too many sweets this week. I wasn't really bad, but did go over points 2 days out of the 7.

This week I plan to be very good and hopefully will reach my Valentine's Day goal. Instead of just one pound to lose for that, I now have 2.25 pounds to lose. There's 1 1/2 weeks left, so I should be able to do that. Here's hoping - and staying OP, too. LOL.

Jo - I can't believe that you are so tolerant of the absenteeism in your work unit that affects your ability to do your work. You get torn between loyalty to the boss and being taken advantage of. Once in a while can be understood, but not the number of times that it has been happening to you. Perhaps your supervisor should have a plan B in the event that there are so many ill...ie: the plan shouldn't include you doing without breaks and lunch.

Did you see CJ get her cable all straightened out just in time to beat everyone to starting the thread? LOL

Sherry - How was the Super bowl? Wish I could have been there, but had to settle for watching on tv.

Hope everyone has a super week. Need some big losses, too. Take care.

Um...good morning? It's, um, just me, little Jo. Calm. Cool. Soft-spoken. It's going to be a better day ... I hope.

One of the two that took off yesterday came in today. She apologized for leaving me in the lurch but apparently her husband had to be med-evaced to the hospital on Sunday night. OK, I'm glad I didn't jump all over her and scream and yell, etc. These things happen. But Peggy, you're right. They need some sort of back up plan. Big problem is the person in charge of phone coverage is that old witch that hates my guts so she just doesn't care what happens to me. I have to admit that I won't hesitate to call in sick or take time off like I might have in the past.

OK, enough of that. We had a sudden unforecasted snow storm yesterday afternoon and Jo lapsed into panic mode. But Rich was driving and it had stopped by 5:00 rush hour and the roads were just wet. Still, I was so stressed out and not feeling well and went to bed as soon as I got home at around 5:30. Didn't get up until this morning and am feeling better, physically and about life in general.

The result of that is that I ate exactly 4 points yesterday. On the WW plan, I'm supposed to have between 20 and 25. While going over is not good, going so far under isn't either. So do I try to "make up" for it today, do you think? Nah, I'll just be a good girl and stick to the program. I'm still hoping to reach my 40 lb. goal by Valentines day. I did get on the treadmill for about 10 minutes this morning but it made me feel worse and more tired instead of the other way around. I'll try to do better tonight.

I've rambled long enough. Guess I'll try to get some work done. And I plan to take every opportunity to walk away from my desk possible!

Have a good day everyone!
Jo.

Hello.........

I'm home!!!!!!!!!!!!!! I had an awsome 4 days in New Orleans!! This was an experience that I'll NEVER forget!! I watched a HUGE Mardi Gras parade, went to a casino and went to Burbon Street.I saw things that were un-imaginable! Things that I didn't think were legal!! LOL!! But we had a wonderful time & I would do it all over again!!!

Superbowl: It was absolutely unreal!!! The dome was so nice. From the suite I was working in, when they made the field goal, it was like I could bend over and catch it!! Words cannot describe how awsome it was! We were told that we couldn't ask for autographs or we would be thrown out.I was on the "V V VIP" floor and I had Cal Ripken in my suite.A VERY nice man.He kept calling me "Ms.Nashville!" I saw so many stars and celeberties!!

Security:UNREAL!! I went through so many "strip searches", I was beginning to look forward to them!! LOL!! I did get so tired of having to empty my pockets out 4 times before I made it inside the dome!

ok....enough bragging...I'm just so excited and had to share my experiences!

I drove home last night (10 hours) on 4 hours sleep.(Too old for this! LOL) and I've got unpacking & laundry to do.I'll be back later to post to all.

Love,
Sherry (Sher-Bear)

Hello Ladies,
I guess I should say gentlemen too, in case there are any out there. I'll start over.

Hello Everyone,
I'm sure that is better. Okay, today is weigh in and I'm not going. Can you tell how my week's been? I do have another meeting at that time but I can't stand to hear how bad I've been. I already know how bad I've been. Poor pitiful me!
Anyhow I'm back on plan today.
Jo.....I hope that snow doesn't head my way even if there is just a little of it. We cannot have a snow day, it interfers with my spring break plans. Can we say selfish?
It is a draggy day here and I am trying to get ready for work tomorrow, so I will close for now and hope I don't go nuts on points today.
BTW I posted a crockpot chicken recipe, which is a neat dish to come home to. If it's an old one and everyone already has it I'm sorry. I just got a copy last week at WW. (that's Weight Watcher)
Hope someone has big losses today, Carolyn

Oh gosh I'm so sorry ... I promised I would be back soon to post longer and I got busy with other things ...

Sherry: So glad you are home and had such a wonderful time! Missed you!

Dreamer: Hey girl! Congratulations! I took you off the update list as you requested, but think what Peggy suggested was good - to stay on it but hey, whatever you want. Just take care of yourself and keep us posted on how you are doing.

Carolyn: Get yourself back OP right now! But I do understand how you sometimes don't want to go to meeting cuz you know you've been bad .. but you HAVE to face up to it girl! I wanted to be down this week but I think I am going to be the same .. so you get yourself right back OP = you have done too well not to.

Peggy: Thanks for the encouraging words about getting into the 160's ... but don't think it will be this week ... maybe next week! I seem to be holding fluid this week for some reason .. Well, let's hope I at least will be the same.

Well, I have been busy adding recipes and new stuff to my websites ... once I get busy with them I loose track of time! I've been adding new recipes in my recipe site every day ... and have added a couple new pages on my CJ's Place site. Guess I should get over to our Thin Group site and do some updating over there too!

Well, off for now. Hubby on way home from work. Yes, he is retired, but has been working as a contractor for the same company he retired from for the last month, probably for another month or two yet. We are going up to the cabin next weekend for a few days tho.

OK .. now I am gone - poof! Talk to ya later.

Love, CJ

Hi all. Happy Hump Day. And check it out, the "phone girls" actually both showed up for work today. Both in the same day!? Wow! Imagine that! If I were the petty type, I'd go home early just to inconvenience them a little.

But I won't. Know why? I'd probably spend the rest of the day eating! I find myself getting home from work and heading immediately for the fridge. What's up with that??? Last night, I ate until I felt sick. Fortunately, it wasn't things like pizza and ice cream or McDonalds or anything like that. It was just dumb little stuff like granola bars and bananas and, would you believe, salad croutons. How weird is that?

This morning I ate my yogurt but Rich had these fat free muffins and they looked so tasty. I ate one. Well, at least it was fat free so that helped a little but it was still 4 WW points I didn't need and right now it's sitting in the pit of my stomach like a brick. When will I learn?

On to better things....

Sherry, sounds like you had a great time!!! I'm so glad!! I was afraid you'd be working too hard to enjoy the game.

Peggy, hang in there, my friend! Tell you what. If you promise to be good this week, I will too. I'll try to keep away from the fridge and stop that evening bingeing. I mean, who needs it!?!

Carolyn, I don't think it's one single little bit selfish to not want the snow to ruin your plans. I do it all the time!! In fact, Rich was going to take Thursday off to work on the house but we're supposed to have snow and freezing rain here so the plans are again put on hold. Hopefully, it'll clear up a little on Friday and Saturday.

Well, we have to drop off Rich's car tonight at the mechanic so I'm thinking about bundling up and taking the now-famous "climb" up the steep hill. Remember that? As long as it's not snowing or raining or icy, I think we may do it. I'll let you all know.

Meanwhile, have a great day!
Much love, Jo.

Hi everyone,

I've managed to survive the beginning of the week without too much damage, a little high on the points, but I will cut back now for the rest of the week. That seems to work the best for me in losing weight.

I'm trying to get ready for this weekend. We are going to a nephew's wedding on Saturday in Saskatchewan. Will be meeting up with the snooty sil - you know, the kind that thinks she is classy and everyone else is a peon and makes sure that these opinions are loudly voiced in public... She's married to hubby's twin, so it is hard to not spend time with her when the 'guys' get together. However, on the bright side, our daughter and son-in-law (plus the grandkids) will be there. I can hardly wait for that.

Got home last night to find that our new appliances had been delivered - the wall oven and the fridge for the bedroom. (hehehe) Haven't got time to deal with them until next week, though, so they are stuck in the middle of the family room until then.

Sherry - Sounds like you had a great time. You are so lucky to have had the opportunity to work at the Super Bowl. Those are once in a life time experiences. Hope you got lots of pics. As for the strip searches...hope the guys were good looking. LOL How are you feeling now? Any news on the test results?

Carolyn - Cheer up, girl. Don't let the bad week kick you so hard. Today is a new day, you're back on program and WI next week will be better. I can relate with you about being bad last week. I really struggled and couldn't maintain my balance - and paid the price with a weight gain. I'm back OP this week and hope to see the weight begin to go again. That's the good thing about weight loss programs, if you have a tough week, it's just a tiny blip in the whole scheme and you can get back on track again. It doesn't mean that you are a complete failure. Take care.

CJ - I'm hoping for the best with your WI this week. It has just been too long that you have been hovering around the 170 mark and not able to break into the 160s. You have stayed OP this week, so hopefully the water retention will correct itself before WI. I'm hoping...

I will have to get back to your web site, too. I haven't peeked at it since last week, so haven't seen any of the new things. By the way, everyone should check out 'Herman' on CJ's site. May bring back some memories for a few. LOL

Jo - It's a deal. You be good this week and I will too. Post your food journal on the site this week, so that I can check up on you, too. I'm posting mine, so you can see exactly what I'm up to. See you there. I have a bit of an advantage this week. I'm just too darn busy to do the binge eating in the evening. That may change when I get the fridge installed in the bedroom. Won't be until next week, though.

Hope everyone has a great day. Take care.

Cheers,

Default GOOD MORNING!

When we re-modeled the bathroom about 3 yrs. ago, I had to fight with the contractor and my husband to keep the old gas wall heater in there. Seems like they are so out of date they can't even be installed anymore. Well, thank God I won out in the fight. That little gas heater is all that stood between me and freezing to death this past week!

Don't know if any of you heard of the ice storm in Okla. but let me tell you it has not been pleasant. My home and car have been encased in about 4 in. of ice! My neighborhood looks like a war zone! All my beautiful trees are broken and twisted and my yard is full of limbs and debris. It will take months to get all this cleaned up.

I am very lucky that none of the fallen limbs or power lines did any damage to my house or car. My car was parked in the driveway (couldn't put it in the garage because of all my daughters stuff stored in there) but it was far enough away from the trees not to get hit. Friends moved the debris from the driveway so I was able to get to the grocery store yesterday, was beginning to get a little hungry!

There are crews from all the surrounding states here helping the power company get everyone hooked up to electricity. They're still working at it and even though most of the ice has melted, now we have 4-6 in. of snow on the ground! My power is back on and my heat is working but I've been so cold for so long my old bones still ache!

CJ, I don't think I've gained this week, but I haven't lost anything either. There hasn't been a large selection of foods available to me this past week. There was cold stuff and there was COLD stuff! Had to throw away my indoor freezer full of food that thawed, but the freezer out in the garage managed to keep everything pretty well frozen. HOT food sure tastes GOOD! Sure wish I had bought a gas cook stove instead of the electric one.

SHERRY, the trip to the Superbowl sounds like something most of us just dream about (even if you did have to work!). Glad you made it back home safe and sound.

My carpet is all installed and looks beautiful! The window blinds will be here in a couple of weeks, but the valance toppers are being custom made and probably won't be finished until sometime in April. I will send some pictures when it's all done (want to show it off a little!).

I just looked out the window and, OH MY GOSH!, it's snowing AGAIN! I think it was Chrissy who said one time that it doesn't really get cold here in Okla. at least not compared to the Detroit area. She may be right, but I'm beginning to understand Jo's feelings about snow! BBBRRRRRRR LOL

I have so much work to do today it's not even funny! Do you have any idea how much junk you find when you have to unload shelves and drawers so furniture can be moved when installing carpet? Where did all this crap come from? My garbage can will be full, I'm going to eliminate all the clutter I've collected for the past 100 yrs! Gotta go work up a sweat and burn up some calories! LOL

Hugs, Judy

Default Hi guys!

Hi all,

I have still been doing really good with my weight. Last week I stayed the same and on Mondays weigh in, I lost another 1.6 more pounds for a total of 41 pounds. So I am really happy about first not having a gain over this holiday season and even losing too is a plus to me.

I have been so busy at H & R Block, you can't believe. Everyday when I come in to work they are lined up in droves to get their taxes done so believe me I sure are ready to go home when the times comes. LOL

Dad has been transferred to a Rehabilation/Nursing home till we see what is what. He still has a feeding tube and can't seem to keep anything down, but we think the hospital was pushing food on him every single meal and didn't back off for a bit and let his stomach heal before attemping again. The good news is that the place where he is, is where my nieces, Emily and Ellen-my sister in law's Chrissy's daughters both work. Em is in the office and El is at the front desk. So they visit my Dad and their Grampa every single day and several times as well when they work. Also Chrissy's Mom, Mary is also in the same place so she comes all the time too and can see both her Mom and her father in law, Papa so I am happy about that. He enjoys seeing everyone, it makes the day pass by quicker. He can stay there I think Chrissy said because of the feed tube like 100 days so we have some time now to think about what is next. Right now Chrissy and he told me he doesn't want Chemo. I want to respect his feelings about that. While I would like him to try it, he has been through so much and I think the big thing right now is that with the tube in his stomach, he really doesn't want to go through more with the chemo. So he is 85 yrs old and he may just be thinking that the time it may buy him wouldn't be worth how he would feel if he had the chemo. We will see I guess. I will keep all of you's posted as things progress.

My sister in law, Chrissy said to let you guys know that she was going to Las Vegas, and she is now back and I talked to her the other day and she even won $400 to boot. She had terrible jet lag cause she took the red-eye back home to Detroit and that was a pretty late flight with no sleep, except on the plane. So she is now doing better she said she has lost about 12 lbs now. So she is really doing well.

Carolyn-It sounds like your aquasize class is lots of fun. I like to take a water aerobics class to whenever I can at my gym. Keep hanging in there and you will get back to where you want to be. Take a deep breath and just do you best, start today and take it one day at a time like we talk about all the time. YOU CAN DO THIS!

Sherry-Hey girlfriend, welcome back. Missed you so much. Man oh man you sure did have a good time in New Orleans didn't you? I know what you are talking about seeing things you can't imagian cause my daughter. Tracy, in the Air Force, stationed in Fort Walton Beach told me that they woman flash their boobs to get beads and she said she didn't even have to do that, as she was with her boyfriend and he wouldn't appreciate her doing that, but still got plenty of beads anyways. SO TELL ME SHERRY-EXACTLY HOW MANY STRINGS OF BEADS DID YOU GET ANYWAYS????? HA HA Now you don't have to tell us how you got them if you don't want. HA HA HA HA I know are probaly a good girl arn't you? But just in case you are not, that's alright too. It's just that I think if I showed them my boobs they would be throwing the beads at me just to get me to stop. LOL How are you feeling lately? I hope you are feeling better. Heck no, you arn't on my list for a missing email, I will wait patiently till I get one from you. I know you have been going 100 miles an hour lately so don't worry I know you will when you have a free minute. Looking forward to it too.

Sam-Sorry I forgot to tell congratulate you on your soon to be here, new baby. Gosh just think you will have a playmate for little Charlotte, how cool is that. I am very happy for you and just know that things will turn out wonderful for you as well. Have some faith that things will be alright, where there is a will there is a way.

CJ-So you started the new thread and than went back to the old thread didn't you? YOU LITTLE BRAT!!!!!!!!!!!! I will have to come up there next time I am in town and will have to beat your little butt.
(YOU SCARED YET??? LOL) Good for you being down another pound. You are doing so well from what I can see.

Sylvia-Are you back from Mexico yet? I hope you had fun while you were there. Post and let us know how your vacation went. Yes that is a great idea to turn into one of those gym rats. Well why not? At least you will be nice and healthy. Beats doing anything I can think of. LOL

Sandi-Yes I did ask my brother Jerry if he remembered you and Spence and he said yes he did. So far so good, he likes it here in Indiana, we try to keep him doing things. My son, Alan has 2 jobs, one as a waiter and the other one in a theater, and he gets to go to free shows and bring guests whenever he wants too. So Jerry goes to the show at least a few times a week, he just loves that. He sure misses Michigan and his job, but we will have to see how Dad is doing.

Mary Kay-I know you are glad that test if over. Sometimes they can be a real pain literly, but I guess they are necessary if we are to be healthy. Take care of yourself, it sounds like they have you working such long hours too. I hope it slows down soon so you can have a break.

Chrissy-Glad you made it back from Las Vegas safe and sound. It was nice talking on the phone to you about Dad/Papa. I have been talking to Emily and Ellen as well on the phone, while you were in Vegas. It makes me feel so good that you 3 are there in Michigan with him and are able to visit him so much. He loves you guys so. Love you Chrissy!

Jello-Glad you team won the Super Bowl. I think they were due for a win don't you? Most everyone I know wanted the Rams to win it too, so good for the Patriots.

Peggy-I think you will lose that 2 1/2 lbs by Valentines Day. Just keep on doing what you are doing and you will get to where you want to be. You always do and even if you don't at least anything you lose will be a plus. YOU GO GIRL! Have a good time at your nephews wedding. How did the results of your medical tests go? I don't think you mentioned what was wrong, I hope it is nothing serious Peggy. Or were they just some routine tests? I sure hope things worked in your favor.

Judy-My gosh I saw the pictures you emailed me of the ice storm you had there. You wern't kidding when you said you were incased in ice. Hope you are getting all thawed out now and are warming up.

Trish-I am so sorry about your stomach virus, but know you like you weight loss, but what a way to lose that weight. Sure hope you feel better soon.

Well guys time to get off here and get to beddy bye. I have to go back to work tomorrow morning and I want to get some sleep so I can deal with all the clients again tomorrow. Sure will be glad when tax season is over again. It sure gets hectic, I tell you. LOL

Love you guys, Sassy Sharon

I asked once before but no-one answered my question, so I will ask again. Where are you finding the clips of your names that you add at the bottom of your posts?

It's snowing here. I HATE SNOW!!! Have you heard? There's nothing worse than driving along in a snow storm, unable to see anything at all, and having the guy on the radio say "Well, we might see a little rain today but it'll just be mostly cloudy...". Look out a window you moron!!!!!

OK, I'm calm now. The snow is supposed to stop by mid-morning and then rain and then clear up. I'm hopeful. I have to take Watson to the vet tonight for his annual shots and that's traumatic enough without "mommy" being all keyed up about driving in snow. It's amazing how animals can sense when their "parents" are upset or distraught, isn't it?

So anyway, I chickened out last night. Yes, I'm sorry to admit that I didn't take the long walk up the hill back from the mechanic's. It was too cold and I was too tired and not feeling 100% and those are my excuses. We had to stop at the VFW so Rich could collect more of his winnings from people who didn't believe him when he said his beloved Patriots would win the Super Bowl. Now at least he can pay for his car repairs!

But back to the subject, I didn't get in the exercise I was supposed to last night. And I skipped the treadmill too which is really unlike me. I got up this morning and did about 15 minutes but then did something really stupid and got on my scale. I really should throw that darn thing away or something. It just makes me obsess. I'm being good (mostly ) and am hoping to do well at weigh-in on Saturday. OK, I'll stay off the scale until then, OK?

Sharon, I'm so glad to hear from you!!! Every time you post, I always think about how close and wonderful your family is and how everyone helps out and rallies around when something happens. I'll keep you all in my prayers.

Chrissy, congratulations on your Vegas winnings!! Wish I could have met up with you there and have some of your good luck rub off on me!

Judy, I feel left out too! I want to know where those clips come from too. Anyway, glad to hear you stayed warm ... well, as warm as possible. I got cold just reading your post. I remember last winter when we lost power and had to use camping lanterns and the camp stove to make dinner and find our way around. But ours was only out for about 24 hours or so. I can't imagine longer than that!! Hope you all thaw out soon.

I'm going to go now. People are slowing rolling in here, saying they're late because of the snow. Hey, if Jo can get here on time in this, then they can too! The good news is that it's slowing down....

Gotta run. Love you guys!
Jo.
