Default Matt cooked and I'm so lost!

He made a healthy lo mein, using the flank steak I had planned to marinate, he used 3 Tbsp oyster sauce, 4 tbsp low sodium soy sauce, 5 shredded carrots, half a head of shredded red cabbage, and half a bag of spinach leaves and whole wheat angel hair pasta IT WAS FANTASTIC. Except it was all mixed up and I have NO idea how many oz of what was in what. ARGHHH. Don't get me wrong, it was FANTSATIC, holy stars it was yummy, but I so don't feel right about not knowing how much of cabbage, carrots etc I actually consumed. Given the taste, I would give this a caloric rating of 10k in calories.

Just guesstimate. You know how much went into it, so divide the whole meal into portions and get a rough estimate on the cals.

Over estimate rather than under.

I would never ever worry about how much cabbage/carrots I eat. My rule has always been - as much fruits and vegetables as I want. Even if you ate a full 1/4 head of cabbage (1/2 the dish), it's only 76 calories (per Fitday, 1 whole red cabbage = 306 calories). I just estimate and keep going! You are so lucky, someone made you a healthy, delicious, "diet-friendly" meal - that's what life IS. You gotta lose weight like you plan to live your life.

I agree with Glory87, it's not the cabbage and carrots you need to think about--probably the flank steak was the most caloric thing in there. If you can, figure out how many ounces of that you ate. Flank steak is fairly lean. Oh, and also the pasta. Try to figure out in cups or half cups how much you ate. That should get you close enough. And be happy that you got to eat something so wonderful! There are much worse foods out there...

Sounds like the whole meal is fine. No one got fat on cabbage and carrots.
