Mountains and Mountains of Clothes.........
I regularly try on the clothes in my closet and have a system whereby the ones that don't fit yet are put in some type of order by when they might fit again. I have been having success with moving more and more pants into my "fits now" section, but realized today I have not done much with my shirts & tops. I was speaking today with a friend and recounted to her that I was back at the weight at which she last saw me in Chicago after zooming back up to 240 during and after my family's relocation a new state. After that conversation, I remembered back to what I had worn when I met her. So today I went and found that outfit in the closet and realized it was in the midst of tops in the "can't fit" section. So I realized I needed to try on all the size "L" tops in this section!! And the verdict? About 15 out of 20 fit, and the ones that didn't are those kinds of fitted tops that have significant lycra in them. lol So that was a very fun little exercise today and made me very happy. Throughout, I kept saying to myself, my gosh, some of these are loose, how is there any way these were tight? I had to practically bonk myself in the head and say, "Hello? 30 pounds lost here? Where do you think it came from???" I guess I was thinking it all comes out of the bottom, but it's true that we also lose alot of fat from our backs, waists, bustline, and shoulders. So even though tomorrow, February 1, is an official weigh-in day, I have alot less vested in what the number will be than before I completed this try-on exercise. This week has been stagnant scale wise, but it was good to get this NSV before the big first of the month weigh day. I'm happy.
