Default Thirsty Thursday Beach Chat Jan 18th

Thufferin' Thuckatash Thursday Already!

We're having an ice storm here-- gives me pause to be thankful to have a warm home and a hot cuppa

We think we've got our house plan design.. it needs just a bit of tweaking so we are off to see an Architect/Designer today. DH and I are busy reading all we can on what it takes to be an Owner Builder-- and I'm sharpening my Project Mgt skills putting together a baseline cost estimate. But first we need to close on the land, get a well drilled and septic system in.

Handy Breakfast Burrito for Breakfast, Bean salad, apple and cheese for lunch and dinner I think we're having Porkchops with coleslaw.
What's going on on yer piece of Beach?

Bugs Bunny? How the heck did he get in here? Watch out for the rabbit raisins - they are not SBD approved!

I'm dragging my butt a bit this morning for some reason but a coffee will fix that up. Donna comes to clean today and I do need to tidy. I don't CLEAN, chickies, but she certainly can do a much better job if she doesn't have to dust around papers on the desk and clean around jars on the sink!

I'm outta here late this afternoon to get my health card renewed in Kingston and then may or may not go to a dinner for hospital volunteers in Brockville. I think I may give the dinner a miss - too much driving and I do have doggie duties at suppertime. I need to write and print the Church bulletin too so had better get off my butt and hustle.

What's happening with you today?

rabbit Raisins??!

I'm doing the Happy Dance today, I've finally lost another 2 lbs, and I've met my goal for January already! I may actually get back into the 140's in another week, it will sure be good to see that again!

I have the morning off since the water will be turned off all day at Cindy's house, and after school I'm bringing the girls back here. A simple remodeling has turned into a major project. It reminds me of the children's book, If You Give A Mouse A Cookie. It will look fantastic when it's finished, though. They live in an old farmhouse built in 1698, and their father is an architect, so you can just imagine the wonderful renovations they've been doing.

Time to run to Curves, I'll be back to chat more in a bit.

Good morning chicks! It's a cold one here in MD this morning! I'm hoping for snow. We don't get it very often here. I thought I'd jump in this morning while it was quiet around here. I only have one baby here right now (I do daycare) and he's gone back to sleep. (Lucky him!) I've got my oldest son off to school and now I'm working on my youngest son. My daughter is the only one of my three that isn't in school yet and she just turned 3 in December. She's a big "helper" with my daycare children and she loves the company too! Well, I hope everyone has a really good day...I've got to go and get ds clothes laid out for him.

Default Good Morning Chicklets!

Hey, happy January day to all of you. I finally have a minute to post. My home puter still isn't working but I have a quiet moment in the ER this morning so I thought I'd pop in.

I have two night classes this semester and I can tell it will keep me hopping.....or dragging.

I had an apple last night............it was fabulous! I'm leary of heading into phase 2 waters because I've stumbled there the last two times I've finished wtih Phase one. I think I will try to do my carb thing for dinner. Tonight the plan is to have oatmeal.

Ruth, drive careful today. Am I understanding you correctly? You clean before your housekeeper comes? Honey, let her do that.

Schatzi, it sounds like your house ideas are coming along. It should be a fun time for you. I work with two women that did that and they had stress, but loved picking out and doing their homes exactly like they wanted.

cottage, I'm so excited for you! I was looking at my journal and realized that I never made it into the 40's last year. I'll be doing the happy dance that day!

tar675, send me your address and I'll mail you some snow....would you like some below 0 weather as well?

Well, I get to work the weekend and so tomorrow is my Saturday and Sunday....I look forward to some exercise time.

Hugs!

Good Morning, all!! It's still freeking cold here, but the afternoon highs are getting a little higher every day. I think yesterday, we made it to 29º...I know, still warmer than some of you.

Schatzi - Have fun with the architect today!!

Ruth - Be careful with all your travel today. Don't pile too much on your list of things to do, and remember to take a few moments to relax.

Cottage - Congratulations on meeting your goal already!! Wow!

Tar - Stay warm today. I think you're getting the remnants of what we had out here last week.

Me - It's pretty quiet around here this morning, but I never know how long that will last. Somehow left the house without adding breakfast to my lunch bag...not very happy about that. The caffeteria is serving pancakes this morning, so I'll be avoiding that place like the plague. If it was omelets, I'd head down and see what else was available. Oh well...it's not too horribly long until lunch, and I have coffee and a string cheese to get me through.

This afternoon, I need to hit Radio Shack to pick up a car adapter for my laptop. We're heading out tomorrow evening to spend the weekend with my parents, and I'm going to let the girls watch a movie for a change.

Morning gals!

Back at work today, so I won't be around to bug you too much today.

Cottage- WTG on already meeting your January goal!!!! I haven't been in the 140s since my early twenties. That is the next "decade" that I am working towards.

Gotta go! Have a super day girlies.

Morning chicks. I have a few minutes this morning as the kids are playing in the playroom, playtime here. DH is watching tv, and I am enjoying a cup of tea. It is cold here again this morning, they are saying stormy weather for tomorrow, not sure if it is going to be snow or rain.

Schatzi- Have fun, designing your new home, I can't imagine, DH and I can't even agree on a wall color.

Ruth- Tidy before the housekeeper comes sounds like something I would do. Have a great day.

cottagebythesea- CONGRATS- you rock chick. I can't wait to see the 140's maybe we can have a party when we get there.

tar675- Morning, I run a home daycare as well. I have been doing it for 13 years minus 7 mos when I thought that I would like to go back to work. Missed the kids so much, and my dd hated me working.

RNMOM-I started ph2 today I had a small bowl of cereal, I too am a little leary. We will just have to take it slow and steady. Have a great day and a good class tonight.

jetsetter- Morning chick, I love Radio Shack, although it called the Source here now, not sure why the change. Have a great day stay warm.

Kiko- Hi chick, thanks for asking about dh, he is doing so so, the back brace is causing his legs and butt muscels to hurt, he has been the cause of my stress. But you are sweet for asking. Take care.

Me- just hanging and playing with the kids. I do feel skinner though. But I have been so stressed with DH the pain meds that he is taking is causing him to be such a jerk, there are days I want to just walk out the door and never come back. The stress is causing my period not to end today is day 8 and it is still hanging on, light but there. GRR. Oh well such is life. I must dash, thanks for listening. (reading) my pitty party. Hope you all have a great day.

Gooood morning all you freezing chickies...it's cold here...but above freezing at least...and we've been spared the ICE!! Thank God! We had an ice storm in the 90's that was Horrible!!! My SIL and her family were with out power for weeks! they ended up staying with us for that time...we were lucky...our power never flickered! So I don't like hearing Ice Storm!! I'm sorry for you Ruth!
Hey have any of you used Stevia before? I bought a box of packets yesterday...I really don't like artificial sweeteners so I thought I'd try it. just wondering what you all thought about it.
I got my first place setting yesterday...I bought the Shamrock set..it's sooo pretty....I've only got 9 lbs to go to get my next one!! lol. I ended up getting the 5 pc. place setting and then getting the mug and a fruit bowl extra...I'd have gotten the chili bowl if they had had the green one.
Having a slice of toast with my breakfast was NICE....it's amazing how much you miss something like that! LOL
I hope you CHICKS stay warm!!! and hope you all have a wonderful day!

Little Chick ~ Hang in there, honey. I've been there, too. Men can be such jerks at times. If we acted like that when we're sick, they'd be rid of us before we could blink! You need a big hug right now.

Jet ~ Don't you hate it when you forget your meals you packed? You're pretty strong, though, to resist the cafeteria. Hope your string cheese can tide you over until lunch!

Kiko ~ Thanks for the congrats. The way you're going, you'll be in the 140s before long! The girls DO have playdough, and we play with it often. We use Floam a lot, too. I actually like it better, it's not as messy. Another activity they enjoy a lot is fingerpainting, but Maggie tends to get it all over the place! I'm glad your roads are better today.

RNMom ~ Isn't it funny how good something tastes after we haven't had it for a while? I'm always leary in Phase 2, too, and I usually have my carb in the morning so I can work it off the rest of the day! I don't know if there's any logic to that, but I like to think so.

Tara ~ I'm a caregiver, too, there seems to be several of us here. I work as a nanny to two precious little girls, and I've been with them since they were born. It's the best job in the world, in my opinion. I hope you get the snow you want!

[B]Schatzi ~ I just saw pictures of your ice storm on TV. Stay inside and keep safe and warm today! That must be so exciting to you, settling on your house design!

Ruth ~ Have fun working on your church bulletins today. My DD is a church secretary, and I've helped her get out the bulletins occasionally, it was fun! Have a safe trip to Kingston later today!

I have a pork tenderloin in the oven in preparation for making the Pork & Pepper Salad for supper. I haven't tried that recipe before, but it sounds pretty good, and I know Barb raves about it! We're expecting a little snow later today, but it's not supposed to amount to much, so they say. As long as the roads don't get icy, I won't mind it.

A dark morning here in the PNW...BUT the snow is starting to melt - YEAH!

Schatzi - House plans, septic system, paperwork! Been there four times throughout my life - at times it can be a pain but it's also a lot of fun my friend...Enjoy the ride!

Ruth - I keep threatening to hire a house cleaner to do those deep cleaning chores...you inspired me to maybe follow through. You do keep yourself very busy though - are you sure you and sis are not twins???

Cottage - Congrats on your 2lb loss and meeting your January goal!

RNmom - Love that oatmeatl!

Jet- Have a nice weekend w/your parents. What movies do your girls like?

Kiko - Have a good day at work...boy do I not envy you young ladies working, running households, etc...I have life pretty easy now in my 'golden' years. Hats off to you!

Little Chick - I keep having to remind you (pray you don't mind too much) to do something special for you! Take care little one.

Phinsup - Congrats on your first place setting The timing is perfect for your Shamrock set with St. Paddy's day coming up! I bet it's very lovely and what a nice way to reward yourself...go nine pounds so we can see what you pick next!! Yeah!

Me - Yesterday was a very difficult day for me to stay legal...but I made it!
I had a stomach ache and was very tempted to eat off program just to feed that ache...habit of mine to feed an ulcer. This morning I feel fine so am so happy I did not succumb to my temtations.

We have our class today on the machines...I have two more to learn (to use properly so as not to harm myself) then I can start doing them all on a regular basis. I did feel very good after Tuesday's lesson so look forward to todays.

Well chicks, have a great day in your part of the world whether hot or cold.

Sis, I love you - class this morning.

Phins ~ I love your "reward" system! Completing your place settings should really give you the incentive to stick to your program, what a super idea! And congratulations!

Mamajok~ Good Morning! for staying legal yesterday. Glad the tummy's better today, too!

Hi everyone - only have a few minutes to pop in and say hi. Big project due tomorrow and we're nowhere near goal. It's freeeeeezing here, but no ice of yet - though they were saying we might get flurries. Sort of a "listen to Ryan Adams and be glad I'm in my nice warm building" day. Finally stopped being sore from overdoing it at the gym on Monday - I wanted to believe that I could still do all the weights I was doing when I was actually in training for it at seventeen, but that's just not the case! I'll take it easier tomorrow when I attempt the weight room again.

Hope everyone stays warm and has a great day!

Ruth: Sounds just like I would do..Clean the house before a housekeeper comes in...Wasn't Lucy like that too?

Cottage: Congrats on your meeting your goal for Jan...Keep it up friend.

Little Chick: Glad DH has decided to taper off the pain pills today...I know what its like to take pain pills and to get off of them as much as possible...It's terrible that Pain wears a person down pretty fast. It sure makes me grouchy toward my DH...Tell him hello from Sunny CA.
cold but sunny.

Lil.chick and RN mom: Yea, I join you in being leary of phase 2...hate to gain what I worked so hard in losing...but we can do it together...right girls?

Schatzi: Just a suggestion...As soon as possible in your area, plant any fruit trees you want on the new property as it takes them a few years to bear. Don't wait until you get settled...Plant now, enjoy earier...

Jet: Careful on the road tomorrow night...Wish you could go while it is still light out.

Tar: What ever you do...Please don't wish for snow here.
The sun may be out here but it is still cold!!! If we ever get snow here, (very rare), it turns into a muddy mess. Too much rain here most of the time for snow to stick...

As for me: Happy to have made my 8 lb goal for Jan...but really hope to make it 10 by the end of the month...

Today is more restful..(sis, believe that), going to the Casino for lunch with friends and DH...They give you $50.00 for your birthday (DH's), to play with...He will not play the machines so I play it for him...then lunch for $2.99.Nice being a senior. Then off to help Morning Star on the computer. Nice and I hope quiet day for a change.
